Jordon Mutch

The last couple of games Jordon has looked like a different player to the one a couple of months ago. Two tremendous goals against Burnley and West Ham were very impressive. He's playing good, incisive passes, driving forward from midfield and getting stuck in.

I think the 3 game ban he received for the silly elbow v Coventry looks like it has done him the world of good and gave him much needed freshness about his game. Lets hope he can carry on his form till the end of the season!!

Of course he is still a young and inexperienced player.

He seems more able to mix it with headers & tackles than perhaps he was 12 months ago which shows good moves towards being an all-round midfielder.

Let's hope we go up and don't have to worry about him being sold.

His west ham goal summed him up, a fantastic crunching tackle, a driving run at the defence and a fantastic finish. He has been doing that for watford, doncaster on his loans and now were seen what they did!
He could be twice the player craig gardner is! He's not getting on very well at sunderland according to my mates and the local papers, always gets about a 5 rating except the few games he had at right back

Mutch has played well since coming back into the team and overall has had a good season. He had a spell where he went off the boil a bit but that is to be expected from a young lad.

If he continues in the form he is in he could well have a big say in us getting back into the premier league.

I don't like getting to carried away by young players like the other lot do down the road. We have had players in the past with potential who haven't gone on to fill that potential, you only have to listen to Darren Carter commentating on our games these days to realise that. However Mutch could have a good future in front of him if he can stay injury free and keeps progressing as much as he is.

Jordan is coming on steady and with no fear in tackles and shooting from outside box... Progress from growing pains late on which halted is game and then a break... comeback is showing the potential that is there , well done commited footballer and needs to be praised more by ourselves along with Fahey breathe of fresh air in middle... Ndaw the destroyer was well good miidle of Park or what...

One point not raised redmond usage very underused especially against west Ham might of backed them up as he is rapid and can score too..

Great point and good game as well .. KRO

I'm a bit narked off at the under/miss use of Redmond he's appeared in 20 games this season and a handful he didn't do much usually away from home but every player had games like that especially wingers.

He's 18 and there's plenty younger than him getting starts week in week out and making less of an impact than he has done this season

Hopefully we start using him more crystal palace would of been a perfect game for him to start and rest someone a head of the west ham game but it wasn't meant to be!

Hopefully he starts getting used and another Brummie teenager could send us up at wembley all over again!

I agree on the Redmond front, he should have been given more game time over the past few weeks and he was well narked after the Doncaster game when he was only brought on for about two minutes, he didn't even come and clap the fans after the game.

He has been under used ever since we brought in Townsend, CH has preferred Townsend to him and considering our upturn in form over the past few weeks I am not going to question CH.

Hopefully he will get a couple of games towards the end when we are guaranteed our playoff spot because in the latter stages of the playoffs when defenders are tired he could be a big plus coming off the bench.

We aint seen much of him , looks great for 25 minutes and then seems to fade .
unlike old footballers , who just dribble away .kro

I say we finish the job against bristol city secure the play off position were 7 points ahead of 7 and if we win on saturday and all the results go against us we'd still be 7 ahead with 3 games left, it doesnt matter whether we finish 3rd or 6th i'd be confident against anybody.

Then give redmond, butland, asante, jervis a chance against ipswich on the tuesday night, back to full strengh on the saturday against brighton and then providing play off's definately asured a fully changed team for the reading game!

We may need the youngsters to appear more next season providing what division were in!

If i'm honest though its nice to see some young players even on the bench at blues for a change, one thing we've not done in the past 5-6 years is use youngsters I cant think of one youngster from our academy making the team since we first got promoted to the premier league!
