He'll be sorely missed by the Dragons. His international career was short but he made a lot of family and friends proud. I don't count myself among friends, but we went to school together and he gave me advice when injured. Like the Dragons statement said, he was the epitomy of hard work and commitment. He wasn't the smartest in school, but he never got into too much trouble, and people respected him. I was proud when I saw him develop as an industrious hooker at Pontypool, before being scouted for Cross Keys and eventually getting his break with the Dragons and Wales.
Lloyd, I'm sorry that your career only really broke into life for such a short period, but you were privileged to play in one of the finest Wales teams in a generation, at a World Cup.
Best of luck in your life after playing.
