Now is the time to change for good!!!

So with these new regulations, my take on it is the spl are in effect saying that celtic or rangers cannot be relegated or demoted, because of financial implications for the rest of the spl.
This must not and cannot happen if the scottish game is to survive.
We are at a very dangerous junction with this one, and the spl want to keep the same old tediously turgid formula which already bores most fans to tears.

Why not split the four divisions into spl1 and 2, with 3 up 3 down with playoffs?
Newco gers would be in 2nd league for first year, generating more money and raising the profile for smaller teams, probably even get the same amount of televised games
It also means no more of the absurd -10 deductions and the money reductions that face gers as it is?
Their fans are quite clearly up in arms about this and rightly so, and i say that as a celtic fan.
But no newco should be walking straight in to any top league regardless of money issues, This should'nt even be up for debate and the fact that it is, shows you how the spl will never improve with doncaster and the like in charge.

Most fans outwith the old firm want to see rangers get the same treatment other clubs get ie airdrie, gretna etc, some celtic fans will not be happy until rangers get punished for the next 100 years, each opinion have their merits. But i think it will be punishment enough if it's a newco no europe for 3 years and they have to start from scratch from the bottom up without added sanctions

Whats your views do you think now is the perfect time to sort our leagues, structure and financial mess out once and for all

I dont know if your plans would work, but I think you've hit the cliit on the head about needing change!

I know maybe they would nt work, it would need looked at in more detail obviously. but it's surely not working now!! Four leagues is too much for scotland

Rangers should be punished-but to allow a NEWCO instant access to the SPL is ridiculous. The message that would send out is a death knell for the scottish game. Its like saying "Rangers and/or Celtic, you can break the law, change your name and carry on as usual, with a little ban on Europe and a points deduction. The rest of the league your fighting for nothing."

CB my sentiments exactl but i think we need to look at drastic action, a complete overhaul!!

I keep saying it, and I keep getting ridiculed for it, but the integrity of our game must transcend any economic argument.

The economics are chicken feed anyway, min terms of sky.

And how many investors will we get going forward in a league that is lacking in integrity? Who would want their brand associated with that?

The SPL has become a pointless uninteresting league with the biggest headline this year being rangers financial woes, more was put into the media on this than Celtic comfortably winning the Scottish league.
I know the passion in scotland is overwhelming but if I were scottish I would be watching something else

We should give them more dosh in fact let the wee teams have all the sky money but we control all the future digital media rights and internet content.

If the spl rules do go through and rangers newco are straight back into spl then the game is officially dead, They need to see THE BIGGER PICTURE!!!!
Now is the time for all clubs to cut their cloth accordingly

It all smacks of cronyism and self servitude.Any idea that the paying fans can have a say goes out the window like the cigar smoke of jumped up corporate types.Destroy the integrity of the game, destroy the future of football in this country.
