Is he really the one to blame, because I find it hard to believe that the board calls Wenger in to say "Hey here is £50million for you to improve the squad" and Weneger will refuse the money.
I find it hard to believe that if Wenger wants a player, he could still lose out on that player because of a little extra money.
Doesn't anyone think that the board actually tell Wenger to seek cheaper alternatives given his success with earlier foriegn imports?
If Wenger is to blame, then why haven't the board sacked him? Gazidis mentioned something to this effect at the beginning of last season yet Wenger is still here.
Do we really have all these monies being claimed with wenger sitting on top of it and refusing to spend?
Do you think Wenger wouldn't like to win trophies?
I think Wenger IS to blame but not for our lack of movement in the transfer market. For persisting with Almunia, Denilson, Diaby, Bendtner.
Although he wanted Schwarzer and didn't get him because of a couple hundreds. He wanted Melo who didn't want to come. He wanted Benzema who chose Madrid.
We all know the board would have sold Fabregas last year if not for Wenger
Lots of people seem to think Wenger
disburses the funds,
pays the playing staff,
gives the bank their repayment,
is the sole signatory to Arsenal bank account
makes the actual bids for players
Negotiates actual players salary figures
and manages the team as well
The long and short though is, Arsenal is fast becoming a less attractive club to come to (except you are a youngster looking for playing opportunities) that if not sorted out quickly, even money won't be able to bring any top players to our club anymore (no matter what we offer).

It seems like players are willing to come and improve their game etc. But when they get good and people notice them then they are away.
I'm thinking of Nasri here

If Wenger can't take the blame for anything, then how comes he strangely always gets any of the the credit ?
