on both Lambert and Le Fondre. Could have been a useful combination had we paid the £1mill for Lambert when we were promoted from League 1 and the £500000 Rotherham wanted for Le Fondre at the end of the Summer. If's and buts I know, but we do seem to miss out on good goal scorers from lower leagues

I just feel sometimes it's worth the risk buying prolific scorers from a lower league - it's a lot less risk - I mean £2.5mill for Beckford + extrotionate wages and he's only scored 2 more than Le Fondre. Le Fondre has also only scored 4 less goals than Nugent and played a fraction of the games, most as sub.

I had the same thought, MGLCFC, on reading the Southampton/Reading report.
Le Fondre - who knew? Oh yes - everbody knew, because he's been scoring for fun for season after season. Okay, lower league, but that sort of sustained record indicates a real eye for goal.
Sigh.
