Have not seen anything on this board about him yet so thought I should make an article.
Today in Livorno's Serie B away match at Pescara, 26 year old former Italy U21 midfielder Piermario Morosini suffered a cardiac arrest and, despite doctors best efforts, died shortly after.
All Serie A fixtures have been cancelled this weekend as a result.
As Bolton fans we can relate considering the Muamba situation - shows us just how lucky both he and everyone who cares for him is that he survived.
Hope the footballing world shows its good side again and tributes are paid all over the world.
RIP Morosini

RIP.
Makes us feel "lucky" for the people who were available for Fab. I thought Italy were equipped better than us, but perhaps it being a Division 2 game meant they weren't. Very sad.

Comments like that are rude & despicable!

I am sure Ed isnt being rude there GL. He is stating that due to it being 2nd tier of the italian league they may have been less equipped to save lives etc.
RIP, our thoughts are with the friends, fans and loved one you left behind.

Yeah, I didn't mean to offend anyone.
Reading more into it, I think they were quite well equipped - they had a defibrillator etc, but they just couldn't get his heart beating again.
Reading about his past, it makes a sad story even more tragic.

The Italians have had mandatory screening for all athletes in organised sport for thirty years so this must have been something subtle and undetectable. It's a tragedy for the young man and his family and I can only offer my deep and sincere sympathies to those who knew him.

I think what we forget is that the word "heart attack" encompasses all levels of severity from hardly noticeable to sudden death conditions like a ruptured aorta from which nobody is saveable regardless of the medics around.
Anyway, RIP Piermario.

Yes another bad day for football but most of all the guy and his family and friends. R.I.P.
It was on the news that a vehicle was blocking the entrance for the ambulance. FIFA should address that with every football club. It could mean the difference between life or death.
