So there about as good as eachother?
Mata first season in pl though that's got to count for something

That means it has taken Modric 3 seasons for that, took Mata less than one

Never really bought the hype over Luka Modric
In games he needs to do more especially in the final third
As for Juan Mata he wasnt exactly great its only when Chelsea were in front he started coming into the game
Thought Kalou was Chelsea's best player

Modric is a decent player but perhaps slightly overrated.

Chelsea for me will win the Fa cup far superior to Liverpool

Judging Modric on his goals and assist's is harsh.
He is a deep lying playmaker, his role is to dictate play spray passes and take players off of the game, he is also the "2nd assist" king, if he ever signs for us then expect lots of Modric to Mata to (insert scorer's name here).

Not if judging by asssts and goals. As thats Modric's stats over three seasons compared to Mata over one.
However, assists and goals hardly are concrete proof of who is the 'better' player. Besides they play different positions, and Modric's position should be measured by different stats to those.
I like both players a lot. Would take Luka for my team any day

Modric is quite overrated but still good. I don't think he's world class though like others

Stats also tell you things like Mikel is our most accurate passer, and up until he was dropped Malouda was are most prolific player in front of goal over the last three seasons.
Luka is the heartbeat of Spurs. He draws comparisons to Xavi for a reason. Stats will tell you Xavi is average believe it or not. He's a box-to-box playmaker, the link between defence, midfield and on occasion attack. Players in his mold are super rare. If Spurs are willing to re-open talks, we'd be foolish to turn them away.
This isn't a Pastore scenario, Luka still has a potential place in our squad, Pastore lost his opportunity when we signed Mata.
