I wonder just how much time was spent with the ball out of play.
1. Get video refereeing
2. Stop the clocks when the ball goes out of play, it's not difficult to do.
3. Punish diving retrospectively
4. Punish serious fouls (a la Balotelli) properly and be willing to add upon the traditional 3 match ban.
I don't care if it gives you more to talk about. That's not a valid excuse for people perverting the rules, sometimes Arsenal too, as obviously as that. Football is the biggest game on the planet, and the Premier League is one of the biggest stages. It's a travesty that these issues cloud it so obviously.
I Thought Games Were Meant To Last 90 Mins

ranna, it isn't about players stopping it. That 40-60 minutes is normal for all games, including ones with no time wasting.

They manage it with rugby well enough. They should employ the same system here.

Your average game normally only sees the ball in play for around 2/3 of the times - for half an hour the ball is normally dead.

Yes but we should be working to reduce this.
