Cheeky fat b'stard

Afternoon all

I have decided to abuse the board in the hope that any mods will turn a blind eye in the way I would....

I would like to ask you all to consider sponsoring my efforts to run the three 10k runs organsied by Run For All, which was set up by Jane Tomlinson in 2007. I have done a few of these races in the past, but this year am doing all three (LeedsLeedsLeedsLeedsLeeds, York, Hull). This year I am running for Jo’s Trust, which is a charity that supports those who are suffering from (or have suffered from) cervical cancer. This is because my wife, Karen, was diagnosed in February of this year with Cervical Cancer. Despite a good prognosis and “catching it early", it was recommended that she have a radical hysterectomy, which she did just over two weeks ago. This meant that she was discharged just before her 35th birthday (Good Friday) and is likely to be off work for the next few months. In addition, she has now got to get her head around having had cancer, and the fact that the option of more children (we have two Little Terriers) has been taken away from her with little discussion or option.

Jo’s Trust have been recommended to us by a friend with a similar story, and Karen is about to embark on attending various support meetings with them.

So, I’m asking if some of you would consider putting your hand in your pocket and sponsoring me. If you would I’ll love you for ever and ever, and you will my unending gratitude.

My sponsorship site is http://www.justgiving.com/BigDaddyG2012

Thanks for taking the time to read this. Anyone who knows me or who has seen me on one of the many quiz shows I’ve whored myself around to will know I’m a lardy boy who will struggle to get round ten kilometers, but I will do it for my missus. Plus, I’ll have excess energy to burn off for the next few months, if you catch my inappropriate drift….

Thanks again….

Lovejoy, please re-read the whole thread and then consider piping down.

The initial thread was intednded purely for Town fans, no offense was intended.

I am not offended by your username, but could choose to be as a Christian, unless of course you actually are a reverend. I won't be offended (or purport to be just to wind people up, as I think has happened here) because I have bigger issues to address.

If you don't like it, fine, but I am mightily pee'd off that this thread has been highjacked by this non-issue.

Were it not against my principles, I'd delete your comments and those by others with the same minisucle grip on the important things in life....

Let's agree to disagree, and leave it at that. Now get back to your flock.

Jeez people. Do you really think the OP would chose this thead topic to deliberatly insult people. It's a little tongue in cheek stuff, internded for his own supporters, in the midst of a far more serious situation.

Get off his back ffs.

When Admin mentioned that muliboarding fundraising articles often caused complaints, I suggested to just stay clear of the Scottish teams' boards and it should be ok.

It wasn't to deliberatly insult all of Scotland ffs, it was tongue in cheek in the hope it gave the OP a smile or two

The OP has said time and time again he didn't mean any offence by it.

Grim .. Does multi board mean it hits the Lower Leagues too .. ? ..

It really could do with getting back on track for its intended purpose If thru pettiness that doesn't happen then maybe a How We're Doing Part Two thread could be prepared .. ? Tommy seems to be refinding Its Intended Soul .. Maybe keep monitoring it ..

I'm doing a bike ride, here in Perth West Australia, for 'The Ride To Conquer Cancer', it's a global effort! Just thought I'd throw my hat in to the ring. Would anyone consider sponsoring me for this great cause? I have to raise $2500 or more in order to actually ride. The event takes place in October, I have a specific ride number for anyone wanting to donate, if I get requests, I will post my website page.

Can I make a formal request 'Admin'?

Kinda worried I have opened Pandora's box. Apologies but I will unfortunately be unable to facilitate your request.

Multi-tagging this was probably a bad idea. I think we are okay with the occasional article created by a regular members who look to raise funds from their mates on the forum, on their regular board.

Apologies again.

It's not the amendment, it's the more recent terminology that I was referring to.. I also mentioned that it is a worthy cause...

The problem here is, that most HT fans just can't help but try and have a go from any angle possible when it comes to Leeds.. Something I can't quite understand to be honest..

Unfortunately I will not be sponsoring as I don't see the OP sincere enough to do so.. I will wish him good luck in his endeavour though..

Its just Natural Rivalry R L some of which occasionally spills over .. Being adult about it its quite understandable and 9 times out of 10 Entirely Acceptable .. I've seen and read you enjoying fun pokes on here over the years .. Do it mi'self and long may it continue .. ..

I do think taking the thread overall, in the round, you may now be picking at nits ..

Particularly as we'll be battling with you proper next season .. ..

Admin ~ I have to go down to shop to get me Big Sis half a dozen eggs .. any chance of you organising a lift back .. ..

Well done anyways .. You deffo captured the Spirit and Moment
and meant real well ..
