We got very lucky last night seems to be a popular opinion
I disagree with this entirely. We made our own "luck". Yes Barca missed a lot of chances, but if you look at those missed chances it was usually because we put them under pressure to miss. If our boys couldn't get a tackle or block in, they'd make it as difficult as possible for them to shoot
Of the top of my head:
Sanchez hits the bar: Cech comes off his line and forces him to take the shot early
Fabregas chance after Cech parries Iniesta shot: JT comes flying out to block
Sanchez wide after Cesc through ball: Cole sliding tackle to put him off
Fabregas one on one: Cole's great positioning to clear off the line
Honestly the only moment that was genuinely lucky was the chance at the end when it fell to Busquets after hitting the post, anyone else it's probably a goal.
There's a couple more as well but you get where I'm going with this. Saying if Barcelona took all of their chances they would've smashed us is irrelevant, because they didn't, and that's because our defence didn't let them
Our Luck vs. Barcelona

Goal line clearances are not lucky, they're about positioning. Same with Cole's blocking Sanchez shot in the second half. Brilliant pieces of last ditch defending from a world class player, not luck.

I agree the Chelsea defence was immense last night, but Barca, by their own high standards were poor last night. Partially because you stifled them and partially because they just weren't on it.

So Farcs's poor finsihing & our great defending means we got lucky last night, yeah right

I read a comment on the potato board that we were lucky because Cole cleared off the line and why don't they get that kind of luck!

The only luck we had last night was the the chip coming back off the bar
You make your own luck in this world, & we were architects of our own destiny in the main to come away 1-0
Superb defending masterclass

Totally agree with you, we made our own luck.
Players as good as these don't just miss chances like that unless that feel under pressure. I was talking for WEEKSSSS about us having an undeniable physiological advantage, and last night that came into play big time. The tactics, the intensity, the crowd, etc... it all factored into that performance.

Barcelona should have won 27-1 last night apparantly
Mugs are on are peeing me right off with their "yeah you got lucky last night but at the nou camp you will DEFINITELY get hammered, i'm putting my house on it" predicitons

You have to ride your luck with Barca
Watching the game last night brought back memories of Wembley. We were pasted yet it took two second half strikes from outside the box in the second half to beat us thanks largely to non-stop defending like you guys had to cope with last night.
They just finished better at Wembley than they did last night. Seeing them camped out around your box brought back some bad memories.
Don't know what was up with Messi last night. He spent most of the game walking. I've heard it suggested he was saving himself for El Classico but I find it hard to believe he would do that in a CL semi. Wonder if he's just knackered.
Drogs: great finish, good all round performance. cringeworthy in the theatrics

I heard he had at least four bullets extracted from his legs last night....
