Guyz i have been wondering for quite sometime about the tv coverage of live football games in Europe.
This is coz all the time during the live match threads for most games whether EPL, Champions League, Europa League and even some FA games, i see most posters requesting for streaming links of the games.
Here in Africa, we usually get most if not all games live through various cable providers namely Dstv , numerous arabic channels.
Even our local non cable stations sometimes show the games especially the Bundesliga, the Champions League and EPL games for teams where there is a huge fan following in that country.
Infact i cant remember the last time i missed any live tv broadcast game unless i was just not near a television set. Also the games are shown at local times that are good to watch soccer, like usually from 3pm to 9pm weekends EPL, 10pm for La Liga, 10pm to 12pm for Champions League.
So just want to know whether you guyz don't get enough coverage from ITV or Sky Sports and why you can't subscribe to foreign cable providers like the arabic channels.
Admins, please multi board
Thanks
EPL/CHAMPIONS LEAGUE Coverage..

ITV has no Premier League games, only one Champions League game per grouping of games, and a few internationals and FA Cup Games.
Sky has the monopoly on football in England, and is fairly expensive for alot of people. And even then, they don't show all the games for every team.

So is it illegal in Europe to get a subscription for any foreign based cable provider that can provide the games?

It shouldn't be if it's within the EU.

Its a rather grey area...you can watch the match using a foreign encoder, but only if it has no Sky branding, eg the graphics, score, commentary, half time show, stats etc.
And that ruling for for a pub, so I dont know what the law is for individuals.
But yer, I would defo pay a subscription if they showed every single Arsenal game live.
