I thought i would cast my player of the year vote today so went on the Rovers official website to see what i needed to do.
I clicked on the link and was re directed to the OneCall Insurance facebook page.
It seems that only facebook members are allowed to cast a vote!
That rules me out and plenty of others i would imagine.

I'm glad so many of you have the same opinion of Facebook as I do. I'll vote by email thanks to Hound.
It boggles my mind what people put on Facebook, and then they are surprised when information finds its way into mainstream media. On this side of the pond there has been a scandal of a government agency having a very expensive "conference" in Las Vegas, and some of the attendees bragged on Facebook about spending taxpayers' money on such things as expensive food and wine.
It is hard to trust online features/services, especially when they are free. The operators have to make money somewhere. A friend was shocked when she realized what gmail did with information gleaned from her emails.

My local MP claimed on Ministerial expenses for her and friend to watch a por (well you know) movie. Interestingly it was paid. No change on either side of pond. Must say I have never been on that silliy little social media site.. I do my clothes washing at home

It would seem that the amount of interest in internet socialising is inversely proportional to the number of years one has socialised. Generally.

Well said. Unfortunately I've been told I'm missing out at the wine shop with the 20-30 year olds because I'm not on Facebook, and do not Tweet.
I'm just amazed these people have enough time to Tweet and keep a FaceBook page.
What is wrong with just talking to each other? I remember a picture about a couple of years go with four people in a convertible who were all on cells (mobiles to Brits). Couldn't they have been talking to each other?
I accept modern technology, but we should not be controlled by it.
