Financial Fair Play

How will these new rules affect City?

The new rule changes will also prevent rich owners from funding their clubs through loans and Championship clubs making losses of more than £6m will face heavy fines or a transfer embargo from 2014-15 onwards.

In our current state, we would fall foul of this and with having some of the lowest gates in the league it would surely make us very uncompetitive. I assume then the new stadium will be required as a matter of urgency to attract new sponsorship and investment into the club (such as stadium naming rights etc).

Interesting times...sort of

Financial Fair Play please don't make me laugh it's just another way of making the rich clubs even more able to dominate the little clubs. It is going to make it harder and harder for the smaller clubs to compete so any club with fickle support could easily crash down through the leagues as each time they fail it would get harder for anyone to rescue them to help them bounce back. Look at the difference there will be between say Doncaster and Portsmouth, if Pompey get out of Administration their fan base means they can virtually buy who they want in the third tier as there revenue will be so much higher than any other club there (That is assuming both Sheffield clubs make the step up)
