NEW PRESS CONFERENCE 8th May

Each week you will have the option of completing pre and post-match press conferences of five questions that I'll ask all managers. This is all optional but completing the press conferences will earn you £2m for each one - once you've answered all five questions add the money to your transfer budget.

Each press conference will only be paid for once and no other interviews will receive any money but use this place for a bit of banter with fellow league managers and stir up some rumours!

This is the light hearted side of the game and also a way to give yourself a little boost to the transfer budget each week.

RUMOUR HIGHLIGHTS

STATEMENT RELEASED BY AFC UNT MANAGER, ANFIELD RAP

It has come to my attention that there is a scandal story doing the rounds.

I would just like to take this opportunity to put the record straight.

I was taking a wander back from the shops, having purchased a pint of semi-skimmed and a dark chocolate bounty, ready to put my feet up and watch Homes Under The Hammer, when it came to my attention that there was a publication from our corporate partners in the hedgerow.

I feel that the fact that I was caught in a rather compromising position is testament to the quality of the brands that we are proud to be associated with.

I am conscious that the hedgerow happened to be in close proximity to Miss Jenkins' property. However, I can reassure anyone with any concerns that Miss Jenkins was not at home at the time of the incident.

She was in fact at my house ironing my KJ duvet set like a good woman.

I hope this clears up the matter.

Thank you for your time.

1.Welshy of Fishguard Wanderers has been making great strides in the transfer market recently, are you looking to dip into your remaining transfer budget at all?

No, he had to spend because, well... Look at them

2. What did you think of your preseason tour experience?

Apart from Tony Blair following my every move in Libya, and trying to sell didgey weaponry, it was fine.

3. Did anything from your game and the way your team played stand out at all? Anything you feel you did particularly well?

We were robbed. And clearly, Javier Pastore is a genius.

4. Do you feel that you could have improved on your tactics in any way?

Perhaps we should have been more defensively organised for a three pronged attack.

5. After seeing your team in action, what hopes do you have for the league season ahead?

To win. Everything.

CON assistant manager Mick McCarthy is giving the weekly Press Conference from his pigeon loft in Barnsley

1.Welshy of Fishguard Wanderers has been making great strides in the transfer market recently, are you looking to dip into your remaining transfer budget at all?

I don't know what the manager's ideas are but I'm looking for 2 big cumbersome centre halves and a 'hatchet man' for midfield.

2. What did you think of your preseason tour experience?

From a footballing side of things it gave the lads a good run out. From a personal point of view I have a garage door that needs staining and I need to take the power hose to the patio at the back - it's not going to do itself.

3. Did anything from your game and the way your team played stand out at all? Anything you feel you did particularly well?

We were full of pace which pleased me. We done particularly well downing pints of an evening but there was no gravy at the hotel. Luckily Olivier Giroud had a jar of Bisto with him.

4. Do you feel that you could have improved on your tactics in any way?

The manager selected a 'footballing 11.' There's no need for 11 players - 5 is all you need. A keeper for long balls, a centre half for long balls and 2 wingers to whip high balls in for your big centre forward. He got it badly wrong.

5. After seeing your team in action, what hopes do you have for the league season ahead?

I was disappointed with the amount of bookings we received. I'd have liked a few more to be fair. I can't see us getting too far with this fancy malarkey. Now if you don't mind I need to feed me pigeons and then I'm off to watch some DVD's of Stephen Ward, Robert Huth and Carlton Cole.

Yes maybe, I have a big one up my very full sleeve...

2. What did you think of your preseason tour experience?

I think it was a dismal affair, but we need more time for our players to gel properly

3. Did anything from your game and the way your team played stand out at all? Anything you feel you did particularly well?

Drogba was constantly troubling the defenders, but quite simply, the defence weren't up to it

4. Do you feel that you could have improved on your tactics in any way?

I could have made my instructions more clear to my two CB's

5. After seeing your team in action, what hopes do you have for the league season ahead?

I am slightly less confident
