In todays world its just impossible for manager to manage a team for over 5 years imo
Media pressure, fans, scrutiny is so much more greater.

It will come to a stage where Managers will be on rolling contracts and judged on a monthly basis

Guardiola has been commendable in the way he has handled himself and I must ask how has he bottled it? His contract was expiring at the end of the season anyway, and he had already indicated in Autumn that he was considering leaving. In Autumn they still had a chance of winning everything, I think. So I don't see where this, "bottled it" theory comes from.

Guardiola hasn't won anything this year? He may have missed out on La Liga and the champs league, however Guardiola has in this season won the following trophies so far: UEFA Super Cup, Spanish Super Cup and the Fifa Club World Cup. Barca still have a chance of winning the Copa Del Rey as well. Barcelona are losing a great manager and I hope he gets a chance to get a rest, god knows he earned it.

I don't mean to be offensive to anyone, but if Guardiola wants a rest from the pressures of managing Barcelona, why on earth would he go to Britain where the media spotlight is just as intense, if not more intense and he will still have to deal with demanding owners and probably more egotistical players than he did at Barcelona. I don't see how moving to England could be a reduction in the stress of managing football clubs.

Thats why i hope he gets a break, he's lost all his hair since he started coaching Barca!

He wants to take some time out. He looks tired and admitted it - the expectation on that Barca team is such that even when they win in style the fans expect more the next game...
I'm not a fan of the team, but Guardiola is worthy of respect. Always liked him as a player too (esp on Championship Manager!)

And he should walk in on his first day at work wearing John Terry's football boots.
