UFC 148 is one of the cards of the year,because it involves silva and chael sonnen.These two hate each others guts,sonnen has openly insulted silva .Silva has never had an opponent who has effected him as much as sonnen has.After the 1st fight my estimation of silva slightly dropped.The auro of invincibilty went out the window after 5 rounds of being at the bottom of a sonnen ground and pound,But he did make sonnen tap which must have been a hard pill for sonnen to take,and so the rematch is probably the biggest rematch in the UFC.Im actually a fan of sonnens i think in the cage and outside he brings entertainment that we have never seen before.
Now instead of the event being held in brazil,it has moved to vegas.The reasons are due to venue and not being able to get a stadium to stage the fight in.I actually think it's for safety reasons,sonnen would not be safe in brazil especially with all the things he has said about the brazilian people.It would be a risk that is just not worth taking.

On a personal note - gutted, was planning a trip to Brazil around those dates in June
I wouldnt have thought it was for safety reasons........think its just about the money. Silva is the biggest product in the UFC at the moment and in the states will be able to charge top dollar. In Brazil this wouldnt be the case i feel, which is a shame as Dana seems to really imbed the product in South America.
Just out of curiosity what type of things have been said? I dont really watch anything but the fights in most programs!

I do think that the dominance shown by Sonnen in the first fight should be taken with a pinch of salt.
Remember Sonnen tested positive for enhanced testosterone levels.

A shame its been moved, the atmosphere would have been unbelieveable. If Sonnen had won the rematch then it would have sparked a riot in the arena, such is the passion that was displayed for the Aldo fight at the last UFC in Brazil.
So more than likely moved for all round safety concerns, I doubt Dana would have fancied his chances once things started to kick off!

Thank god it's been moved, I love Chael and the thought of him dying via a poisonous blow dart was a real worry!

Yeah i can't take their first fight serious given Chael was juiced to the nines....he doesnt make it out of round 2 this time imo
