Why would any city fan want us to fail

Guys i love you to bits.but betting (however the good the cause) on our team not being successful is in my opinion a bit strong.

Debate yes but we are almost saying we want NP to fail why would any city fan want that ?

It's not that you'd WANT them to fail. But if a fan truly believes Pearson won't move us on, you'd surly THINK we would fail?

Anyway, I neither want, nor think we will fail next year. I'm not saying I think we'll get promoted but I think we'll be in and around the top 6 under Nigel.

Ferry boy.
What i am saying is people seemed to want Sven to fail as they do Nigel but that only means the club fails and so one gets to gloat.
I know anough city fans that like nothing more to wallow in failings of others.

I reckon fans can sometimes get into that mind-frame, if things are sufficiently dire. There are many Blackburn fans who seem to feel that way about Kean, for example, and some at Liverpool seemed likewise to be willing to see their side founder if that drove out Hodgson.

But it doesn't always follow, and I don't think it was the case with Sven or is now the case with Pearson. I do think there were City fans disposed from day one not to give Sven the benefit of the doubt, and some of us are now reaching that territory with Pearson. But as City fans we have never I think (in my time) wished actively for failure on the field.

Or am I wrong about that?

RAF Malling

I don't think there are many as i state but just how quiet when this board is when we are doing well. I am over simplifying it.

I wasn't keen on the re signing of Nigel this time round and i don't believe has managed to get the best out of this squad.

But lets see what happens and i don't want to bet aginst him

You do have a point Nev. There are some on here who are very sceptical about Pearson, but betting against us to prove their point is not something I would imagine they'd really want to do.

Didn't really think through the implications earlier....
