Hi all,
Haven't posted in ages. I am going to hold my hand up and admit, for the first time in about 12 years, I have lost interest in Villa. It is not because we are pathetic, I remember the Taylor and Gregory days, and even then I was still into it. No, this is something different. McLeish has systematically ruined our club. He has turned us into the worst Villa team I have seen in my 20 odd years of supporting this once great club.
I have moved to Australia, and in seasons past I'd get up at 2am to watch our games, but no more. He has ruined that sense of excitement and hope, that all fans have the right to feel. Now I don't bother to get up, because I know that the impending tiredness the following day will have been for nowt. I hate that. I WANT to feel excited about Villa again, but I feel that with this bloke at the helm, that will never happen. I also question (as I did when McLeish was hired) Lerner and the Villa board for hiring him. THEY DID NOT LISTEN TO US FANS. We have every right to say to them, WE TOLD YOU SO.
As a Villa fan of over 20 years, I am absolutely gutted at the club we have become. I feel for the fans still over in the UK that have to pay to watch this tripe, particularly the season ticket holders and the kids. I was also disgusted to see our team sheet today. I noticed that we had no fewer than SIX defenders in the starting lineup.
This was a game we had to go out and win. We had to take a risk, because the three points would have effectively kept us safe. WBA are extremely beatable. Yet McLeish plays ONE recognised winger in Charles and SIX defenders. He was playing for the draw in the hope Bolton and Wigan would also draw and lose. That is the sort of mentality we have from this man. NEGATIVE.
I wish I was there to show my anger at this season-long display of incompetence. I just hope that any demonstration is done AFTER we are safe (if indeed that happens).

Tell me this is not true....

I go to Villa games on the ocassion and it's really bad, I've never seen a manager so negative.

Feel sorry for villa at times, but then remember how cocky their club, players, manager and fans got when they were 8 points clear of us in the race for 4th place 3 years ago...

I don't, for the reasons you stated but I will never forgive the unsportsmanlike behaviour of the Villa fans when Newcastle went down.
I'm struggling to think of anyone that would want Villa to stay up.

My believe is that it will be by skin of your teeth survival but you will be lucky ... You dont even look like scoring just like us for 3 years under AM ...No wum here but I am glad he is your Manager for how long? Lerner must be questioning that?

For the same reasons you'd be quite happy for us to go down Bubbles. Newcastle were a joke (just like us now) at that time with a Chairman that had little regard for the fans.
Was it Joe Kinnear you had at the helm for a while? Another useless manager. if we stay up it will be because there are three worse teams obviously but we will have been mighty lucky.
I admit I took great delight on that final day when Newcastle went down (it was nothing personal) but have nothing but admiration and respect for the way they have bounced back. Credit where it's due.

I think a lot of the blame has to go to your owner. He has decided that he has spent enough and is sellig your best players and wanting you to bring in freebies and loans.

We've always sold our best players.
Hutton? - No freebie, N'Zogbia = No freebe; Jenas on loan - on God knows how much per week (injury prone) gets long term injured and we still have to pay him.
Not exactly the penny pincher some would have us believe.
