I don't like the idea of buying from Serie A. It's the one league i would avoid. When players come to the prem they just can't handle the tempo of the game.

Arsenal seemed to do ok with Henry (Juve), Veira (AC Milan) and Bergkamp (Inter)!

There have been high profile flops but that's possible from whichever league you go to. It's about the player not the league, I haven't personally seen Ramirez play but hopes appear high for him and he's an international regular in a pretty decent Uruguay team at the age of 21. He sounds interesting to me.

If he is allowed to play as a AM he will do well in the prem. He's a bit like VDV but he is still very young and there is a huge difference from Seria A to Prem.

I have taken a look at YouTube to see what he can offer...

He's a midfielder, naturally left footed but looks like he has worked hard on his right too.

Likes to arrive late in the box, has some good skills. Good player..

Does he have the potential to replace Gerrard in the (not so) distant future?

Can't tell by the YouTube clips... He has more skill I would say than Gerrard but whether he has the leadership or character to succeed when things are not going well I dont know.

I'm guessing that any player we're associated with in the press won't end up at Anfield. It's all guesswork by the media as we all know the club are trying to do all business behind closed doors
