Da Future

Afternoon everyone,

So I was looking at the team, as you do, and I thought that there are only two positions that Liverpool do not have a certain starter for. These positions are CM and LW/RW.

If I had to pick a first eleven today, with no injuries it would be:

`````````````````````Reina
Johnson``Skrtel```````Agger``Enrique
````Gerrard``````Lucas```````????

````Downing````Suarez```````????
For the CM ???? I could not pick from between Henderson, Adam and now I suppose Shelvey and Spearing. Which of those would be the first choice for that position? As there is no clear choice, there needs to be, so that is an investment area.
The LW???? is between Bellamy, Maxi and Kuyt. Bellamy edges it for me but he is going to be 33 next season. But again there is no clear option. So I would suggest another area for investment. I think only those two areas need to be improved. There is adequate cover for all positions. Perhaps another Striker allowing Suarez to float out wide. I would move Carroll on if it were me in charge.
Otherwise there is enough cover of a good enough quality to fill a whole. Coates/Carragher/Kelly for CB, Full backs you have Kelly/Flanagan/Robinson (even Agger can be moved left). CM's as mentioned earlier, and there are 5 attacking players who can interchange on the wings. Striker thinking about it could have an addition as Suarez can play anywhere across the top 3. For me personally I wouldn't have Carroll in the team. It is contradicting to our style of play. He can be a quality player but I don't think it will be for us. He is to static and to dependant on high balls to be effective, something the other players do not enjoy playing.
That's just my take on the matter, sales aren't that necessary except for Carroll :P. To be fair if Aquilani fancies sticking around next year he would occupy that CM position nicely.
What are your thoughts on my thoughts?
Aquilani probably won't play for Liverpool again, which is a shame, as he seemed a decent player in his few appearances in 09-10.
I would like to see Hoilett, quick, tricky, can shoot, can pass.
Then a top quality cm, such as Eriksen of Ajax, as well as Soldado of Valencia to grab the goals up top.
Reina
Johnson - Agger - Skrtl - Enrique
Gerrard - Lucas - Eriksen
Hoilett - Soldado - Suarez
Decent article OP, but just wondering why you think Downing should be a starter? He has been poor lately and, although he has his moments, he hasn't been anywhere near consistant enough, which is ironic because that's the reason we bought him! Well that and because he's English!
Charlie's Dentist,
Nice team but can't see us going for Soldado, and I doubt Eriksen would come to us - would like to see Hoilett here though.
'Da' in place of 'The' is unforgivable.
I was just about to write exactly the same thing!!
Why do you need a clear first choice?
Rotation is the name of the game these days.
You need to know your strongest XI...
Why Fred? Strongest against who?
The best teams all make at least 1 change to their team pretty much every week, so which team is best?
Apologies for the 'da' I am actually disgusted at myself! What was I thinking! Won't happen again....
And Jose ans his 360 turns--- Purely because I think Dalglish sees him that way and I think his price tag merits the inclusion. He is quick and our best and only winger. He has the quality things just haven't been going his way. Plus the confusion over his role every other game... poor lad! Thanks for the inputs! I will never allow my poor choice of grammar to take away from the essence of the article again! Lesson certainly learned!
