A lot of people seem to have the feeling we will be going after Lambert if Big Eck's time at the club comes to an end. However im pretty certain it will be Curbishley .. I'd love to see Martinez at the club but i dont see him taking over ... I think Curbs could do ok for us to be honest, he's worked with Bent at Charlton, he's an ex Villa player of the past and he will get us playing again. I know people think he might be slightly dull but after everything thats gone on this season we will need full stability next season if we survive the last few games.. If we can get Lambert, Martinez, or Curbs i for one will be a very happy Villa fan. Happy today's results went our way and feel another point should be enough to scrape through what's been an awful season.

You've got to be a better prospect for Curbishley than the Dingles!

I'd agree. Don't underate Curbs. Loads of PL experience (including being relegated, but he brought Charlton back up). Very good reader of the game; if Charlton were struggling he'd change things round at half time. An eye for good players, like Bent. Good manager of players. The job he did at Charlton was impressive; even more so at West Ham in the fairly short time he was there. Thought highly of by his colleagues; was considered for the England job when Capello got it. Comes across as quiet, but underneath he's determined and ambitious, which is why he left Charlton (took a year's break before looking for higher things) and West Ham (wouldn't stand the board going behind his back). Think he could do something good at Villa.
However, Baggies may soon have a vacancy so Villa might have to move fast.

5 stars from me, Dlo.
I really hope that you’re right, but expect to get some abuse for your suggestion. I wanted Curbs to take over, as soon as MON left, and got bucket loads on the old 606 boards. I completely agree with your points about him plus he did a great job with the Charlton academy and he has proved that, when it was really needed, his teams could beat anybody. There is an unfair perception amongst those that don’t really understand football, that AC is a mid-table manager. I genuinely believe that he is capable of much more and deserves a shot at a bigger club (if we can still be classed as such after this season).

Christopher Lambert would make a great manager for you.
He took to being Tarzan like a duck to water.
With that sort of prowess, your set-pieces will be de-vine ; in-swingers, out-swingers etc.
It would be so much more interesting that the current fayre being served up by McJudas who is more like George of the Jungle than King of it.

What no Moyes? His name normally get pulled out the hat everytime one of your managers gets sacked or leaves.

Moyes has built something at Everton, in spite of the restrictions. He's not going to leave it except for a top level challenge. Villa would be more attractive to someone who looks at Villa's resources and thinks that in spite of the poor performances there's a lot of potential to build something from scratch. Who knows, the next manager could be the new Moyes.
