Sooooo, i have read some Arsenal fans laughing at Liverpool spending so far and attempting to spend:
£35M..Carroll
£16M..Hendo
£15M..Downing bid.
£22M..Suarez (no mention of by the way)
Wengers method of prudence is to be admired, but how you can laugh at a club that IS strengthening when your club looks to be weakening, and is probably at the greatest threat of missing out on the top four amazes me!!
Lets see how much you laugh at the end of the season..maybe no trophy again, maybe no top four, no fab, no nasri?? Still laughing??
And dont give me, blah, blah we always finish top four; Liverpool always finished 1st!!! See where i am going? I have no grudge with Arsenal supporters, i am just shocked at their blase attitude to another teams strengthening esp with Arsenals weakening!!
Pretty football, no trophies...whats the point somebody said!! At least Liverpool are spending to improve their position, and i bet with anyone we will take a top fpur spot!!! ANYONE???

Also liverpool for the past few years have been spending a hell of a lot on players compared to arsenal, or strengthing as you call it. But still liverpool have failed to qualify finish above arsenal and failed to qualify for champions league on different occasions. Neither have they won a trophy since 2006 only a year after arsenal. And have been less competitive than arsenal in trophies since then. If liverpool had been more successful in competitions from their player strengthening, your argument would carry more weight. But they haven't so your argument is not valid really.

We can argue endlessly, however Liverpool are NOT happy with no trophies and ARE improving; Arsenal it seems are not concerned with winning so continue to meander and count top four as a success...as Wenger himself said, now i know which club is sriving for success and which isnt.
The season will tell us the truth. How about 2nd game of the season, Gerrard to Henderson to Downing to Carroll.....1-0!!!!

I dont know what Arsenal have spent, but there is plenty of credible evidence that says Rafa spent on average £14M I(ish) per season at Liverpool when sales were taken into account.
Now 2 champs league finals, runner up in the league, fa cup win, league cup final and super cup win aint bad from 2005 to 2009!! After 2009...H&G were in charge and a sell to buy and the yanks nearly ruined us then the dark knight woy took over (H&G appointment) but ignore that eh!!!
As i said, Arsenal view top four as success; trophies not needed. Liverpool have slipped the last TWO seasons...cant deny that!!! but its not nonsense to see we were being ruined, now we are in a stable position and if other fans cant see whats happening, thats fine...because just ask Liverpool fans if they are happy, now ask Arsenal fans; the answer will tell you all you need to know about the 2 clubs.

If the only result for Liverpool this coming season is a top 4 finish, your manager and most Liverpool fans would class it as a successful season.

Downing is a decent player but I don't think he's worth 15million - just shows you the money that pool have now and the money thats floatign about that EPL.

We are not laughing at you for spending money. In fact, we are crying for not spending ourselves. However, it's the amount of money you are spending and on the quality of player it's going on that's the issue. Dalglish seems to be trying to recreate Liverpool's successful period in the 80s by building an all-English type team. Nothing wrong with that per se, but football has moved on since then, and you guys are paying over the odds.

Its all relative, if Liverpool make top four and win a cup then the transfers will be worth it; if we make top four then its worth it, becasue you can bet that the next transfer window Liverpool will sign better players.
Downing, Carroll, Henderson,Adam. Lets look closer at these.
Downing, Villas best player and puts in great crosses, scores and gets assists...improve Liverpool? YES!
Carroll, One of Newcastles best players bullies oppenents and is a craking header of the ball...and he has a cracking shot on him...improve Liverpool? YES!
Henderson, young footballer with great potential real box to box playr with all round midfield play...improve Liverpool?? Maybe...but glad we have him. (listen to those that played with him and managed him).
Adam, Scores, passes, takes quality free kicks and i bet fits in Liverpool alongside Gerrard, Meireles, Suarez like a glove..pass and move, cant wait to sdee em in action.
So, i reckon they all improve Liverpool just becasue they aint called "hullio gonzalio" and come from S America dont make em bad....and they aint bad either!!! Proofs in the pudding, and thats a month away so lets wait and see eh, lets judge after they have kicked a ball for the reds!!
