What everyone forgets about the Rafa rant is that he made it just after Steven Gerrard was charged for fighting on a night out...

I firmly believed at the time and still do that Rafa made the statements about Fergie to totally distract the attention from the Gerrard incident..

Just my thoughts on the matter and it worked because our dip in form that season happened after that incident and Gerrard who was playing amazing all season took a dip in form for about 4 games (roughly) and no one ever mentions that incident as being a turning point in our season, they only mention the "Rafa rant"
