World Champion swimmer who has passed away at the age of just 26 from cardiac arrest.
He was not a footballer, but he was still a supremely fit athlete who just died so suddenly. The question has to be asked why so many healthy, young athletes are going through cardiac arrests.
Are they being pushed too hard?

I have genetic heart disease, it's not just to do with health/fitness/stress, sometimes it just happens, and it can happen to anyone. It's difficult to pick up, I had to have several blood tests. It kind of got my hopes up

Tragic, really is, something needs to be done about this - we can heart screen all we want but it's evidently still failing a few, I hope someone out there comes up with a solution.

Gunners, not much can be done beyond what is already happening. The best way to stop it is by screening and by eating heathily, plenty but not too much excersise obviously helps. It can happen to anyone.
