Carroll

All three behind Carroll can interchange position as they can all work centrally or in wide areas, but Downing would more naturally stay wide left, Suarez would more naturally come inside, allowing Gerrard to move into that space on the right and cross for Carroll.

Lucas and Adam sitting deep allows both Enrique and Johnson to bomb on at the same time when we have the ball, allowing for quick switches of the angle of attack.

Nowhere near good enough, defensively poor, passing dodgy , no pace.
Just because he scored a few goals in quick succession means he's better than Downing?

Kenny needs to offload Maxi (and Dirk "my second touch is a tackle" Kuyt, Jay "chicken without a head Spearing, Jonjo "I'm a Championship footballer" Shelvey, Adam " I can't pass an Indian take-away" Adam)

Add Joe Cole, Aqualani, Aurelio into the for sale mix and then we can start building a decent team.

For me, we need to bring in Muniain (if he's willing to come to a team languishing in 8th/9th place).

Failing Muniain, then either Hoilett or Moses.

Adam Johnson for the rirht wing should be our No1 target.

A striker, preferably Llorente if not then Huntelaar / Soldado.

We could do with Javi Martinez (distant dream) but if he goes to Barcelona then surely one of their players would possibly be surplus to requirements, then go for that person instead?

Would Xabi Alonso be interested in coming back?
Attacking CM - Gylfi Siggurdson ?

Hopefully Carragher will retire in the Summer, that still leaves us needing another CB. - Robert Huth would be my choice.

If I were a Liverpool fan, which I’m not I think two players I’d realistically want to sign would be Adam Johnson and Ba. Johnson will surely move this summer and I can’t imagine he’d cost a great deal. Offers that thread down the right Kuyt no longer can. Ba I believe has that £7 million release clause has his stock has dipped a little since the arrival of Cisse at Newcastle. He’s been forced out wide by Cisse and the goals have dried up as a result. At Liverpool he could play in a front two with Suarez and I think they’d be very potent together.

You could have the pair for £15 million.

Nobody will get Johnson for £8m.

Why would Ba want to come to Liverpool when his club look like qualifying for the Champions League, when his team are playing well, his international teammate has joined and things at Liverpool aren't looking too good?

Johnson has 4 years on his Man City contract, no way will he cost less than £15m, probably nearer £20m, considering what Young (£16m) and Downing (£20m) went for.
