I know I do this kind of article a lot, but taking an idea from Hawkmoonfy2 I would just like to ask you guys to comment below and say what players you would like to see be signed in the summer.
Or just analyse your thoughts on what kind of players we need!
I would like to see:
Chopra (Ipswich)
Previously for Cardiff he was always a goal-threat against us, and I have always rated him when he played for Cardiff. He is 30ish but the thing is the brains he has could possibly tame a tall, fast partner striker if you get my drift.
Williams (Yeovil)
Went to watch Yeovil last Saturday and he was pretty decent in midfield (can drop back) obviously the big step up from league one could be a drawback, but perhaps a worthy risk to take for league ones 5th top goal scorer.
Rhodes (Huddersfield)
Purely because he is league ones top goal scorer, but obviously gonna be pretty hard to get our hands on!
Grabban (Rotherham)
Heard this guy being talked about a lot, he has scored 18 goals in league two but could be a risk, possibly another Brett I suppose…
and…
HESKEY!
Who do we want in the Summer?

Not Heskey we need to build for the future and Heskeys best days are well in his past now.
Smithies GK Huddersfield (if Fit again)
Rhodes Huddersfield but unless we get him now then no chance.
then I rather expect any other signings will be from players that Del and Tony know from Scotland as our scouting network is generally pants.
Del and Tony have a lot of work to do rebuilding our scouting network and our academy for the future as well as to build for next season and the ones to follow.

We need to be realistic with our expectations!
First inquiry, should be Amougou, we know what he offers and how he works with the other defenders.
Next, a couple of pacey, hard-tackling fullbacks, that can get up and down the wings. McGivern was caught out of position far too often and that put pressure on an already shakey defence.
After that, Kilkenny needs to go on the transfer list and a decent attacking midfielder brought in.
Finally, a twenty goals a season striker, to lead the line and that will cost serious money.
£4-5 million should bring in the players required and aviod another disappointing season.

If we can get Amougou that would be a start but there are apparently several clubs interested in him as there are with Pearson. However if we keep Skuse at RB and Foster at LB we will reall only need people to cover for injuries which would leave more time to concentrate on sorting out the midfield and striker positions. we saw just how much we missed Elliott as his injury coincidered with a run of bad form almost as bad as that under Millen until Del brought in those loan players to stiffen the defence ie McManus and Amougou alongside young Hogan9Not yet the finished article by any means) but who showed in flashes what an attacking midfield player should be, Kilkenny please take note if you wish to remain at the Gate.

Yes keef, a 20 goals a season striker will cost some serious dough!
Which won't leave much from the 4 million budget you have guesstimated for other squad members to be brought in.

Most of the players we seem to be looking at(if the rumour sites are to be believed) are out of contract with the exception of McManus(who could be available cheap/free as he apparently isn't wanted at Boro and they want to ship one or two out to get new faces in at least thats the gist I get from their site/boards) so that would leave the majority of the 4-5 mil available for a good striker although we could probably sign both Lita and Waghorn for less than 2 million which would make Mr Lansdown's smile a bit wider.

I'm happy with Stead leading the line and Taylor for back-up but we need someone quick, with an eye for goal.
Is there another Andy Cole in the reserves, of one of the Premiership clubs!

KM now that would be great and if we found one I would hope the directors would remember to add a dell on clause when he went off to the premiership something we forgot to do with Andy Cole, just think if we had had a 20-30% sell on clause when he went from Newcastle to Manchester, could have netted us a couple of Million
