I think we can all agree that when all our defenders are fit, we have the best backline in the league.
Sagna-Vermaelen-Koscielny-Gibbs
Give me a better defence. I think statistically, when all the above players play together we have the least amount of conceded goals.
Elite. This defence trumps all when fit.

Ridiculous.

I'm not denying that it's solid, but realistically it's not the best in the league. You have the 8th best goals defended record in the league this season, behind Spurs, Chelsea, City, Utd, Liverpool, Sunderland and Everton.

Arsenal going forward are bettered probably only by the Manchester clubs but nobody is going to tell me their defence is the best in England or even in London IMO

Debatable, OP. It's certainly the best we've had in a while though.

Even though the defence is good, we're still prone to counter attacks as we bomb forward a lot and set pieces, unless Merty is playing will always be a risk against a tall team and plus knowing our luck we will never have that back four together for long enough

They'll look much more solid when there's a disciplined holding midfielder playing in front of them. Not like Song who is in the opposition box when teams counter attack us.

I've always believed it's the midfield's job to stop counter attacks. I can never blame our back 4 (bar some really ludicrous positioning) if we succumb to a counter.

Statistically, when that back 4 has played together, it's by miles the best in the league. Problem is how much have they played together. 3 of them have been out for atleast 50% of the season
