I am of the opinion that one thing that should certainly happen this summer is Lucas Leiva should be appointed as our new captain. Gerrard is ageing and doesnt play as much or influence as much as he has in previous years.He also seems to lack the drive and passion he once previously had and i have seen some opinions that he has become lazy.
Lucas on the other hand has established himself as our most important and in my opinon best player. He is our most consistent player and leads by a solid and calm example.
On another note, well done to big Andy today, he put the rest to shame.

Na mate. Jay Spearing as Liverpool captain. He deserves it with his excellent performance this season.
Downing or Henderson as vice captain.

Lucas is a better, younger player than agger and is also less injury prone, though agger has done well with his fitness this season. Lucas has also shown incredible mental strength to come through his start at Liverpool to become one of the leading players in his position.
And Kash i ask you what has Gerrard done to deserve keeping the captaincy over the last two years?

i would rather Agger as well to be honest,
but he is too injury prone now days and be the same problem we face with Gerrard being Captain.
Lucas,Agger and Reina(get some passion back into him!!) would be my choices, not fussed out them who gets it.

I'm not convinced Reina will be here next season so that may well not be an issue. In any case, he needs to pull his finger out before he could make any issue out of it
