I've read the programme over and over, munched my way through hundreds of pies and gallons of cowin' bovril and still the players haven't come out for the second half!
I thought Tatt's was spot on with his player ratings in the Mail. 5s for Mutch Ndaw and Elliot as well as Redmond. The first three simply failed to impose themselves on the game, both in terms of winning challenges and poor distribution of the ball and TBH I feel the poor display can be put down to those three alone. Mutch redeemed himself late on with the assist for King's shot against the post though. Everyone else (Redmond aside- out of position and isolated- mainly because of the midfield's shortcomings on the night), did ok overall imo.
No point debating the defence and keeper really- that's what we've got and that's who will play at the back in the second leg, but again, they'd have looked much more secure with a more effective midfield in front of them.
And so to Wednesday. Team selections anyone? I'm going for the following (assuming Keef is still absent)..
Doyle
Back four as per Friday
Burke, Mutch, ? , Redmond or Townsend on the left.
King and Ziggy .
So for me, the main questions are:
1) Who should play alongaide Mutch- does N'Daw get a second chance or should we be looking at Spector (on the basis of his contribution late on in the first leg) -Gomis, maybe, if he's available?
2) And who'd going to provide the crosses on the left side for ZIg and King?
I really don't fear Blackpool, Dobbie and Ince aside and if the midfield can impose themselves next match, those two will be too busy defending to be any sort of threat up front. Blues can win this , no problem, but that midfield needs its ar%e kicked ofr Friday's performance.
The longest half -time break ever!

I agree with Blackrose,I thought N'Daw did ok,he was involved in any play going through the midfield,I'd give him a start on Wednesday.

Main problem for me is how Chris Hughton makes this match a special in everyone's mind, He has done it so many times this season he must be running short of lifting messages. This game will be a very very tough ask of players who have given their all and some over an extremely long season. Blackpool are dangerous, and they have a goal advantage. Blues will have to be cautious and yet adventurous enough to score at least one if they do not concede. If we concede, particularly early on, the mountain might just seem too high. I don't feel good going into this. Bet of luck boys, you will have my top volume voice on the night, you will have no negatives only positives from me. I am just so full of admiration for what you have achieved in this glorious season.

ED, if you were a player, just 90 minutes (ish) away from Wembley, you would'nt need 'lifting'.
Our players know they have a job to. And they will do it..
We, as fans, have a job to do on Weds night. We must be loud and proud, we must intimidate the opposition. We must sing with passion.
Please ED, no more negative comments, be positive, be strong my friend.

We were lucky to get away with a 1-0 defeat on Friday and we are still in the tie.
I hope Fahey is now back and will be able to play on Wednesday.
I would play Townsend from the left and Burke from the right and if Fahey is fit I would play Fahey and Mutch in the middle with King and Zigic upfront!
The atmosphere will be rocking on Wednesday and the players will give a better performance than what we got on Friday night!
Roll on Wednesday and KRO!

I actually think Blackpool will score first and early my prediction blues 0 Blackpool 1 at HT, then blues 2 Blackpool 1 at FT, blues 3 blackpool 1 AET.....may put a bet on that scenario!! We like to do things the hard way!!
Don't agree when you say he'll have to get the players up for it they know the prize at the end of the match, wembley and a chance of playing in the top league hughton won't even need a team talk on Wednesday on my point of view if he did then we need a new squad!

I thought this place would be buzzing with nervous energy but it seems very quiet. All got squeaky bums yet?
