What we have just seen is Rowett's job interview. Essentially 10 questions were asked of him. For the benefit of Mr Robinson here is a recap on the answers that he gave.
Lost 0-1 at home to Northampton. Totally outplayed.
Lost 0-4 away at Wimbledon. Enough said.
Won 1-0 at home to Gillingham. Gills didn't turn up - own goal.
Drew 0-0 at home to Crawley. Never looked like scoring.
Drew 1-1 away at Dagenham. Opposition were appalling on the day.
Won 3-2 at home to Morecambe. A Ross Atkins earned win.
Lost 1-7 away at Bristol Rovers. Enough said.
Lost 0-4 at home to Aldershot. Enough said.
Won 2-0 away at Macclesfield. Could have been 4 down at half-time.
Lost 1-2 at home to Barnet. Atrocious effort against rubbish side.
How on earth could he be employed based on that you might ask? It would seem like the worst job interview ever wouldn't it. There are some reasons that he might;
Spread those points gained in 10 games over a season and you would stay up next season - just.
He was presumably asked to keep us up. He achieved that.
The Chairman must know we have some rubbish players so he did what was asked of him with what he had. Of course, Billy Kee and Macca missing made a difference too.
He is a loyal man who believes in giving his Managers a chance.
It is alleged he likes to do things on the cheap.

Give it to me bluntly !

I am just trying to present a balanced argument with the facts Terraceman. I am still seething about yesterday.
I started off thinking that I was going to post a rant about how there was no chance he would be employed. Then I thought I should present it in a bit more of a balanced fashion.
My head is saying all sorts of things to me. It is telling me not to go next season if he is employed. It is telling me to write to the Chairman if he is employed. I am that angry with what I have seen in the last 3 games.
My gut instinct is that he will be our new manager.
Short of something to do tomorrow I am thinking of going to watch Mansfield v York as a neutral. I need to banish the memory of what I have seen in recent weeks with a different football experience.
Yesterday I saw our players not going in for challenges. I saw our players not chasing back. I saw our players not doing basic marking.

Yes although i didn't atend i tend to agree with all you have said,we are in an almighty mess top to bottom as it appears and my gut instincts are the same !
Perhaps i should apply for the job, i inherited PP's squad on Football manager 2011 and got rid of the entire squad, winning league 1 1st season,a few more signings and league 2 was won with an FA Cup semi-final v Man City thrown in !, 2 seasons mid table in the Championship followed by promotion to the Premier league and a 12th place finish and i'm currently in the top 6 this season. During this time the Chairman has grudgingly given me a pay rise but i am by some distance the lowest paid manager in the Premier league despite turning down offers from Juventus and Aston Villa, despite requests we have belatedly increased ground capacity to 22,500. THey must know the chairman well !
Its only fantasy league and obviously i jest but its not much different to the fantasy going on at the Pirelli !

I think it will be fantasy football if Ben has someone other than Rowett in the frame for the next Burton manager. Rowett has not earned any right to the job. I dont think things would be any diffrent if Pech was still in the job. Pech had to go, but so sould have his sidekick.
I will still be there next season whatever ( I need my head looking at ).
I just hope the pain does not start so early as pre-season, ( Tamworth springs to mind ).
