Your defence has been cack - it is the most you have conceded in a league season for something like 50 odd years?

Simplistic to blame it centre backs. Our back four was decimated when we were conceeding.
I think we had the most ever different players played in defence.

I don't have to explain to any spurs fan what Arsenal's defensive problems are and despite them all we are still above you in the league and have been consistenly for years.

Arsenal need to improve there defensive cover in midfield, we have two full backs who get forward and don't get enough cover and Song thinks he is the new fabregas.
None of the above problems would be solved with Vertgonhen.
I am not in denial about our problems but methinks you are in complete denial if you think our problems are any worst than yours

No I did not. Read my comments again.
All I have said is that Vertonghen would not automatically walk into our first eleven with out us first selling.
You chose to ignore all my other points and focus on one small point I made about our midfield in an attempt to try and make out that I think our defense has been faultless.
What I will say is when we have had a consistent injury free back four our defense has been good but this season has been a complete disaster on the injury front therefore the problems.
I think if you ask almost any gooner, they will tell you the same - the midfield is responsible for a lot of defensive problems. No matter who you have in defense if the midfield goes missing when you need them to defend and cover then there will be problems.
My underlining point is that Vertonghen would not solve any of our issues. It would be an enormous risk to sell either of similar centre backs (Koscienly or Vermaelen) in the hope Vertonghen will be better.
Spurs need a centre back like Vertonghen and he will almost certainly get into the first team provided he settles which is why it is a good bit of busines for spurs. It would be a waste for us as we have other areas that need to be addressed as a matter of urgency.
