Lamont Peterson fails drugs test

They are saying that after the first fight weight in Peterson put on 15 pounds before the fight and at the time Glen McClory was dubious as to how that is possible?

"I'd still like to know how on earth Peterson put on 15 pounds between Friday night's weigh-in and Saturday night's fight. It certainly made a big difference to him as he was pushing Khan about and that's no mean feat because, for a light-welterweight, Khan is huge."

I think we know the answer why, he cheated and took steroids. His belts need to be stripped off him, am not saying hand them back to Amir but that results needs to be put down as a No Result.

I'm not sure Khans next fight will be for the titles as he's looking for an opponent June 30th, do think he'll just move up a weight after his next fight. There's more money to be made and a higher calibre of opponent to fight at welterweight

Golden boy have asked for the belts to be handed back to Amir and the result to be put down as a no result and I think that is what should be done as he was cheated afterall.

As for the next fight I think 6 weeks is short notice for someone to naturally move up to Welterwieght. He won't get Bradley but there is a chance to fight unbeaten American Garcia for the WBC belt unless Garcia already has a fight lined up.

He could have a re-match with Maidaina or Judah or put a scalp on his CV by taking on Eric Morales but other than that there is nothing. A re-match with McCloskey isnt going to happen now after he got battered on the weekend.

Neon at the time Morales was running scared and went for what was the easy option Garcia only to lose his belt to him. Now he has nothing and he will not turn down the chance to win the WBA and IBF belts. For me the options are:

Option A: Garcia and try and win the prestigious WBC belt
Option B: Morales, he's old but still useful and the fight will put bums on seats
Option C: Maidaina, was a close first fight but he has moved up to Welter.

I cant see someone like JMM wanting to fight at Junior Welter and Bradley is fighting Manny that will not happen. I cant see Alexander coming back down to Junior Welter.

i suspect peterson will be stripped of the belts and khan will get the opprotunity to fight for one of the vacant titles if he doesn't move up to welterweight.
