Firstly, I have to say when I saw the line up I feared the worst.
Spearing is a squad player and can come in and do a job, but should he be starting an FA cup final for Liverpool? the answer has to be no. Alongside Henderson there was absolutely no creativity in midfield and therefore no service to Suarez. To compensate, Gerrard was often coming back and played most of the game BEHIND Spearing and Henderson.
Downing had no impact (again) and neither did Bellamy. I thought Agger did well and at least tried to get things going with a few pressing runs, also he made the tackle of the game on Kalou when he looked certain to be through.
Enrique showed signs indicative of his form in the last few months. Good strong confident play at times but then prone to mistakes and lack of concentration as well. I thought he should have done better for their first goal.
There was a discussion on the radio yesterday about Liverpool and how the summer will be another of transition with plenty of comings and goings. Someone suggested that one of the goings could be Reina. I wouldn't like him to go, but I have to admit he fills me with less and less confidence every game. Again, he shouldn't have been beaten at the near post for the first goal. Hopefully this season has been a one off because he has been seriously below par.
The main positive was of course big Andy Carroll. Well done to the lad who came on and made a point. The game totally changed when he came on and I thought he took his goal very well. He should have scored his header but it was a superb save from Cech.
So to tonight's game. I would consider playing Coady tonight, Spearing is not a Liverpool first team standard player so why not try something fresh. Also, I would love to see Sterling get more minutes. One things that probably will happen is a start for both Carroll and Torres. It should be interesting to see what kind of reception Fernando gets....

Dea Gea has got better and you can see United are working on his game. He is still a baby when you consider how long keepers go on for. I do though think Lindgaard looked a better alround keeper but in a few years Dea Gea may be a top keeper.

De dodgy is in the wrong league!

Most people think the same about half the Liverpool team, Championship quality. Infact, if Downing was right footed, he would be in the Championship. If Spearing wasn't scouse, he'd be at Burger King.
De Gea is still young and will become world class, but Lindegaard isn't bad cover for him.
Also, I don't think anyone takes what Gerrard says seriously.

On the downing issue, he has created so many chances this season it's unreal and if we had the strikers to convert them. Downings assists would be in double figures!
On the Spearing issue, he's a work horse or shout I say donkey. That will run allday, sadly it's not good enough and he should be moved on but get your facts right please, Spearing is not a Scouser!
