The Championship...

Welcome to the Championship Blackburn fans, commiserations on relegation, us Leeds fans know the feeling well. I think you will enjoy your time in the Championship as long as you don't plan on staying as long as we have, or taking a 3 year detour to league 1 like us!

I don't really know the ins and outs of what has been going on at your club but its obvious you must have one of the most supportive owners in the premiership to stick with Kean all this time. I wouldn't be surprised to see them give him the chance to go for promotion next season.

We have a bit of optimism that next year could be our year with Warnock in charge, it's an open league where anyone can beat anyone but with the right investment with your parachute payments Blackburn should be aiming for a playoff place, good luck and I look forward to seeing you at Elland Road.

Thanks mate but

"I wouldn't be surprised to see them give him the chance to go for promotion next season."

Nor would we - unfortunately he aimed for Champions League this season and we got relegated so most fans will expect a detour of your proportions if he is in place next year...

Unfortunately that is the exact reason we're in this mess in the first place!

I think we'll struggle to make the top half next season and may very well end up playing the likes of PNE and Accy Stanley in a few years time

Thanks for the comments. Makes pleasant reading after the other Leeds troll had Wummed around.

Leeds have certainly been done like a kipper for years and it is pleasing to see such a proud old club on the way back up, slowly but surely.

Bates will achieve his goals in a timely and structured fashion and Warnock is a very good man to have at the helm at this level.

When all the deadwood who got you relegated moves on and you bring in some new players you will be looking forward to the new season as much as I am.

We haven't really invested a lot in the squad since we got relegated, too many loans and freebies but we have found some good players in our years outside the premier league - Beckford, Gradel, Howson, Johnson were all with us in league 1 and are good enough for the premier league in my opinion.

Norwich are a good example of what can be achieved with lower league players hungry to prove themselves, that should be the aim of Blackburn now. We're hoping Warnock is able to convince Bates to free some transfer funds from his Monaco bank account to give us a chance next season.

Thanks for the welcome confident4promotion but not sure you've got a very accurate reading on our situation here. In the last 18 months Venkys must have cut our wage bill by at least 25%, they have spent £10m less than they've made in the transfer market, and they've stripped all backroom and boardroom staff down to the very bare bones. We don't even have a chairman now. What do these signs indicate to you? Cause they should indicate we are being asset stripped.

There's no reason to think things won't continue in the same manner so yes Kean will be kept on (cheapest option). We'll then lose Robinson, Olsson, N'Zonzi, Hoilett and Yakubu, and we will spend very little of either that or new parachute payment money on good players. My current prediction is about a 12th-14th placed finish.

No cause for optimism, no chance for promotion.

You're right blueandwhite, to be honest I've only taken a small interest in your plight as it's went on, I wouldn't claim to know much about the owners or what's been happening behind the scenes. But i can emphasise with a lot mess money being spent on the playing staff than has been made in transfers. Unfortunately our excess money seems to go into construction and court cases rather than footballers! Good luck for the season ahead anyway.

Yeah cheers, you too. I'd imagine you'll have a decent chance as always.

You don't know how refreshing it is to have other fans admit that they don't really know what's been happening. Most -usually Arsenal fans- flood on here claiming that they understand the situation far better than us (from watching 5 minutes of us on MOTD and reading The Daily Mail) and telling us that it is all the fans' fault.

Anyway, good luck for next season -except when you play us, obviously
