Hopefully Champions League football.
Hearts will take the place of Rangers in terms of loving pumping you rivalry.... All the other clubs in the SPL will be fighting hard for the second CL spot, so it's a bit more interesting for them.....
We'll also get another good chance at a treble. Hopefully it's ours next season...And the season after that..Ect, Ect.
Interesting times ahead without a Rangers team in the league next season.
Hail, Hail
Celtic Next Season

Bhoy - will Celtic fans still turn out 60k ever second week to see them part time teams?
Will Celtic fans accept simply being good enough domestically (affording anything else would be tricky)?
I would say that you could be looking at a full house anywhere in Scotland being a pipe dream.
That does not mean that "debt ridden clubs cut their cloth" any better.
It means they go bust.
Quickly.
And in numbers.

dc1,
CL money could compensate the drop in attendance figures...but it could also increase our attendance figure

DC1, in fairness you don't know what's going to happen. You're just reading what the papers are saying and rehashing it.
Some of the SPL clubs have money problems, that's a given. They'll all take a hit of around a million a year if Rangers go under...But second place for one team will make up that money.
You also have the added incentive of possible Euro money and more fans turning up for something meaningful.
I think all the clubs in the SPL can be run at a profit if their cloth is cut accordingly.
If this means a CVA for some of them, then so be it.
The death of Rangers does not mean the death of the SPL.....But I concede we'd be a stronger league with Rangers.

It is not a million a year. That is the direct cost (and a minimum at that).
Once you remove the away fans & tv contract that Rangers would bring (or retain) you then also have the loss of advertising & sponsors.
And that's where the REAL hit happens.
If some SPL clubs went into admin they would not come out.
They have to worth buying (as we are all too painfully finding out!!!).
And a post Rangers, post Sky etc SPL would not be worth sinking millions into.
Make no mistake, SPL chairmen (ALL SPL CHAIRMEN) are right now re-writing the budget for thr transfer window & next season.
And it ain't being increased!

No it won't. Only if you assume the money stays as it is at present. The revenue will slide.
DUtd go from 1,4m SPL income to possibly 200-300k a drop that can only be sustained by player sales year on year.

DC1, why wouldn't they come out of administration?
Wouldn't that be up to the people that they owe money to?
How do you know another deal with say the likes of premier sports isn't on the cards?

Why wouldn't they...Motherwell, Dundee, Livingston?
Hearts' debt is owed to Romanov

Uboat, I think they'd find other ways to cut their cloth and survive.

Romanov walks = Hearts fecked.
And the other clubs, if they go into admin, why would creditors settle with the same management, with attendances sliding, revenue dropping, and no one investing - why settle to allow club to shaft them again
(speaking from a supporter that is familiar with a club shafting creditors)

How? I know you can't answer that so its a bit unfair of me to ask but..
My starting point is that your football really is crap right now and can only get worse most probably to a League of Ireland/ Wales level, though you may still have a few f-time clubs left: if the DUtd figures are correct then all clubs will operate on an 18-20% of current TV revenue.
When clubs cut costs they typically lose the bigger earners and also large parts of their youth set-up. The financially solvent teams will of course survive but there will be no challenger to Celtic in a 1-horse league for quite some time.
You might think Celtic will do okay but your wage structure will probably halve - and that will affect the players you can attract and keep, the quality you can put on the park, the transfer value for players and the crowds you can attract.
And without Rangers, you won't be the big boss of your league because the others will change to a bigger league and reduce your income even further.
