What a blistering knock!.although sour taste at the end as kieswetter denied the captain a well deserved back to back ton.
It would have been more joy to see cook on 100*.
Kieswetter looked to me like a villain at the end.
Such a resounding victory but not satisfied.
That 2 sixes from kieswetter at the end was meaningless.i like him less now.right thing on bad occassion.
However our dear english boy Alastair Cook has again shown the world what rock he is made of.
Cook you re the champ.
Kieswetter i like you less now, what a twonk.
Your inning would have higer value if you'd let your captain reach his ton.
Also, well played anderson.
I cant feel enough happy though.i would scream with joy if cook had got there.

What Mathews did was RIGHT!
SL had plenty of time to win that game. I was there watching it.
It is not a tournament where the NRR is important. So win is what matters. In getting there if you could achieve personal milestones it is better. That will only make players stronger especially a youngster. You should have seen Chandimal’s commitment on the field that day. In that you could see how greatly he valued the opportunity he had to play for SL.
1. Eng was whinging cos they didn’t like to see Chandimal (a youngster) reaching the milestone
2. For the same reason KP gave a verbal attack (more a vomiting which is normally the case with him) to Chandimal to upset him (and try & get him out), while he should have picked on Mathews, if he was really concerned.
3. Cook asked Kies to hit the target yesterday to be in line with his girly rant to gods at Lords!
4. Eng fails to see (at least tries to ignore) the team spirit shown by Mathews to uplift a team member by taking a calculated risk
5. Can understand the hurry of Eng to win this convincingly as lately End was SL’s bitc8 in ODI’s.
Enjoy while it lasts!
Also, let’s see how England & SL perform at a neutral venue (Middle East) very soon!!!!!

If one is trying to achieve a milestone to the detriment of the match result (or their own team), that is WRONG!
BUT IT WAS NOT THE CASE AT LORDS!!!!!
Yesterday they could have let Cook get his 100, but they were SIMPLY backing their girly rant about Lords incident!!!! Silly bu88ers!

I am a WUM? Who the - are you?
I am saying what I feel & I dont give a - about what you little girls think.
Was I talking about test cricket, you - ? Did I say SL is good at tests? No...Cos we are cr8p at it. I am fine with that!
If it doesnt rain Eng is cr8p at ODI's. Learn to live with it.

Before writing this OP you should have listened to Cook's explanation of this event. It seems the old 606 habit of not letting the facts get in the way of the story remains.

I think the English were unnecessarily ranting about the Lords century of Chandimal- I mean SL had oodles of time to finish the match so they played around a little with the English bowlers but that was humiliating to the hosts and hence the rant.
So when the opportunity presented itself for a special hundred for Cook in the next game, they had to show they were different from SL and hence Cook missed out.
Well Cook's loss and Chandimal's gain, because a year or two from now nobody will remember the English uproar while Chandimal's hundred will be a highlight in his career.

Rex the only ranting occurs when you arrive to post.

cook had it cooked for himself in previous ODI.
someone scoring a century at lords where nothing is at stake...what a big fuss was created by the losing team to deviate attention from the defeat.
poor cook had to show it off that he really meant what he said in previous match...and forego a certain century in the bargain.
