Kagawa

Just a quick question,

Seen alot about Kagawa on here lately, just youtubed him and he does look quite good. Can he play in a midfield two? I know very little about him but it seems he's rated quite high. Is he like a Goetze-type player?

Wish we could get Schweinsteiger (or more realistically) Martinez or Fellaini!

The question begs, the black rooney, if you know nothing of Kagawa, how can you if he is an Goetze type player? They play for the same club lol.

But position wise, he would be competing for Young and Rooney's current position.

Though this seems to be another Ozil or Sneijder transfer rumour with no evidence what so ever.

He is more suited to 4-3-3 formation.

But i'm sure if he had a really strong CM with him, he could play in 4-4-2.

Carrick and Kagawa wouldn't work in my opinion.

I could kiss you for saying that. Amazing how many dont realise this or accept it.

This is exactly right. He might even oust the striker and Rooney would push further up. However, I wouldn't like to see this.

The likes of Kagawa, Gotze, Gaitan, Nasri, Mata, Silva, Hazard etc would NOT improve our centre midfield.

Lol, yeah this perception REALLY annoys me. Imo we need a Toure or Fellani in midfield and one of these technical types for out wide/ to cover Rooney.

BB - a Toure or Fellaini type would be nice. Not a lot of good ones out there though.

We could do with another defensive midfielder to be backup to Carrick and go alongside him when we need to tighten up. They could be slightly box to box like Toure and Fellaini are.

A technical player to come in for one of the wingers, as backup for Rooney or on for a striker when we want to go 4-5-1 or 4-3-3 would be good too.

Isnt Kagawa that guy?.

Kagawa could do that, yes. He's that type of player, and there are many out there of that type. I'd be more than happy if we bought him.

MyNani I'll try not to kiss you as well, but you're dead right. This is why I dont think he should be a playing priority ahead of getting the Central Mid sorted or solidifying the full back areas.

However if bringing him doesnt stop us doing that strengthening budget wise or number of new personel in one go wise then fine. He's cheap, will make a wad of cash for the club, boost our profile even more in Japan and strengthen the squad with a very good player increasing our options while bringing cover for Rooney or wide in a 3.

The main issues with the squad will still remain though.

I hope not

Completely agree with the rest of your post.

Kagawa wouldn't solve our weaknesses, but would offer us something different and provide able cover for Rooney and on the wings. For how good he is and the price reported it's a no brainer. That would still leave us with significant funds to improve the rest of the squad.
