Now now, I am being realistic here.
We have had a lot of games in short space of time.
The amount of times, Sturridge, Malouda, and essien, have let us down in the Premier league games we needed to win. Im talking about Arsenal, Fulham, and perhaps even Newcastle at home.
All day long, the squad isnt good enough, hence why he saves the best players for CL, but if we dont win it (god forbid) then, were not gna be CL next season. Wouldnt it have made sense to finish fourth AND try gun for the CL?
Personally, hate to say it, if you look at our last few Premier league games, minus QPR, loads of draws...wonder if that plays a big part in RDM getting job full time.
RDM. Just a cup manager?

As for targets, I'm not as well informed as the rest of you on here to make any claims of who to sign.
I just see what I think we need to replace!

Gazza, I was refering to signins over the last six years or so, Sidwell, Pizzarro, Ben Haim ect.
I like the signings of the last 18 months of Ramieries, Luiz & Cahill but I wouldn't include those of De Bruyne, Lukaku, Cortoius, Bamford ect as they haven't figured much (or not at all), they are an indication that the club has recognised the failings of it's previous transfer policy though!

Other than Torres I think all players bought were value for money. I miss baletti and Alex

When i say revolution, i essentially mean dettaching the old guard's influence on the club. Having him in the bg as squad members is fine provided they don't throw hassy fits when they don't get picked
The core of this squad has proven over the last two years it can't maintain a constant level of form to challenge on the fronts we should be challenging on (the last two months doesn't excuse the 18 before it). We've had two managers who are poles apart in philosphy, values, manner, etc... in that time, yet the same formula arose. The trusting approach bit Carlo, the hard nosed approach bit AVB.
For a start, the fringes need to be severely trimmed ..... Malouda, Kalou, Ferreira, unfortunately Essien, etc.... need to be gotten rid off. I'm currently in two minds about Drogba, i'd stall as long as i could with that one. But most importantly, Lampard's influence needs to be replaced. And granted he's arguably the most unique player of the last 20 years, that ain't gunna be easy.
FFP won't be a problem provided we show intention to break even. Sell for each player we buy, within financial reason, and we should be fine provided we don't make a habit of it.

The best team we've beaten in the league under Robbie was Stoke (currently 14th)
Obviously some amazing results in the cups, and there are other factors like fatigue, motivation, squad rotation that has affected our league form.
But to have only beaten teams at the bottom of the table is poor

I think what this Premiership campaign has shown is that the likes of Malouda and Essien can no longer be relied upon.
When they´ve played they´ve really let us down this season and both need to go this summer.
In fact our squad in general is probably not quite good enough for a team competing on all fronts.
I would like us to have more options in the squad next season with a few more versatile players who can play in different positions.
Versatile players in your squad is the key in my opinion
