Not quite
All I want to say is this....if we want to show the whole world that we are not a club that sells its best players to our rivals then we must ensure by all means that RVP is not(this applies only if he leaves next season) sold to an english team. Wenger and the board need to put their feet down and reject EVERY offer from the english clubs. We can all see how City (and now Spurs through Adebayor) has benefited from getting previously average players wenger has molded into very good players.
RVP is world class(the only one in our team imo) and for that reason top european clubs will all swoop for him. The only question will be how much will we get for him. Thats left for wenger and the board to hold out for the highest bidder(i dont expect any 'feyenord DNA' mumbo jumbo) which shouldnt be too hard seeing his exploits this season.
I will be bitterly disappointed in the club if hes sold to City.
And i will also be disappointed in RVP if he openly talks about moving to City(or another english club) and eventually moves to that club.
Another "is RVP leaving?" article

not saying he isnt a top player, but for me up until this season he has been too inconsistant, and you cant call a player world class judged one one good season.
if that was the case michael ricketts would have been world class 10 years ago

"for me up until this season he has been too inconsistant"
....hmmm, not entirely unreasonable, but most of his 'inconsistency' has been due to not playing. When he has played, he has been brilliant for some time now - certainly long before this single season. The only real difference is he has played almost an entire season - a first for the guy.

No... you think you're joking but you're still comparing Rvp to Ricketts... criminally unfunny
In Ricketts best season he managed 15 goals... Rvp did that in the back end of last season alone

finally a decent response
serious question tho...
i know he has had a very good season and an injury free one, but would you rather have a world class van persie who will miss chunks of the season, or would you rather cash in and have a very good player who can play an entire season??

Honestly? I've been saying for a while, if someone offers silly big cash - take it, he's had one injury free season out of 8 - as long as the cash is invested in a decent player or two, we can replace his goals easy enough. I'd miss the fella, but.....

i think thats the problem, i'd love him at united, however after hargreaves, spending that type of money on a player with his injury record again may be a bit of a risk.

Basically, we can't lose - if someone wants him for big bucks, take him - he may break down again and we can replace his goals no matter what anyone else may say. If no-one wants him, we still have a great player who may or may not break down again, but costs us a relative pittance next to the other top strikers in Europe.
