Or do you think it was a case of playing to many games and injuries catching up to players?
Im saying this because both teams have had a very poor run in since the final with us (Arsenal) finishing 4th when we could have done the quad and Birmingham City getting relegated

I honestly would never give up winning that carling cup for premier league survival.
What would be the point? Really we are always going to be up against it in the premier league as we dont have the resources, last season we punched well above our weight but were lucky with injuries.
This season we won a trophy and was unlucky in the latter part of the season with injuries and thats the way it goes.
Im honestly not too down heartened with it because i know weve at least finally got a cup after all my years of following blues i didnt think id ever see that.

Nice to see another balanced and gracious Arsenal fan. In honesty I agree with kingblue, us winning a title is once in a lifetime whereas survival happens every other season I'm gonna highlight injuries more than anything else, we really missed Dann and Faddy this season.

I would especially say scott dann was a huge loss for us, the understanding he and johnson had at the heart of our defence won us plenty of points last season specially nicking draws and 1-0 wins.
The question for me now is whether we can hold onto our better players.
I doubt it though and if we are bringing in players id like to see a younger more attacking line up as players we had on loan in particular were a major let down with injuries or performance level.
Hleb, bentley and martins on paper would be good signings for us but that never worked out.
Even the loss of zigic since the cup final was a major factor.
Anyway thats all history now so will wait and see what happens now.
