JA606 England Squad - Goalkeeper

Hi

There have been so many posters questioning what England squad we should take to the Euro's so how about a definitive JA606 poll to vote for which players we should bring in each position to give us an eventual JA606 23-man England squad.

We can start with the goalkeeper and move on through each position with a list of five or more options to vote for. The players with the highest votes will be selected. There will naturally be 3 goalkeepers, 2 right backs, 2 left backs, 3 centrebacks, 8 midfielders (2 RW, 2 LW) and 5 strikers.

I am straight away going to assume that Joe Hart will be near enough everyone's first choice goalkeeper, plus we're limited to only five voting options, so please vote for which goalkeeper should join him out of the following:

Vote

1 star) for Scott Carson

2 stars) for Ben Foster

3 stars) for David Stockdale

4 stars) for Robert Green

5 stars) for John Ruddy

I'm sure I've missed ones out but these I think you'll agree are the main candidates. The 2 highest voted options will go through.

Admins if you could multiboard this please.

Thanks

Hart
Green
Carson (Foster if he comes out of international retirement).

Did it LRF. You can see for yourself on the page if I did it correct or not.

spurtle, looks great to me. If you want to sort it out I suggest you might give players numbers and use <i>, <b>, <u> etc.

So like this

<i>1. Diego Alves - HG/FG/U23</i>

HG = Homegrown
FG = Foreign
U23 = U23

Super Kelvin Davis!

Cool idea. Im gonna vote for Ruddy.

However I think its is pretty likely, in a 23 man squad, that you take 4 CBs and 4 strikers. Instead of 3 & 5.

Isn't Ross Turnball English? As a Chelsea keeper he must be top class.

Foster is on a "break" from international football, but I am sure he will be in the squad.
As for 3rd choice (Hart obviously 1st choice) you may as well take someone like Ben Amos as to take one of the average experienced keepers like Ruddy, Green or Stockdale.

You are likely to see players like Richards who can play RB and CB, and players like Sturridge, Welbeck or Walcott who can play wing or striker, so a break down as Spurtle has done will not be strictly what Hodgson will do, but in terms of something like this, neccessary.

When - I thought about the 4 strikers etc, but I suppose one of the strikers can always act as a midfield option, as in Sturridge being picked as striker or winger. I guess we can come to that later. For now I figured I'd just go with what seems more traditional.

Would be too complicated I think spurtle (if it is still going )

Maybe you could do the core of the squad then have 3 places for utility players or extra striker or whatever.

D'Jeezus - I was toying with the idea of having voting for taking 4 strikers or 5 strikers, and other number of players in other positions but I think it would drag on too long. Want to try and see the results before the actual squad is announced to compare it, and also cause nobody will bother voting once official team is up

Main thing is to have 23 players. I guess the team can be arranged in whatever way after that.
