NP to Euro 2012

Good morning lads (and girls); came across this article about Shearer being ruled out of the England back room staff role this summer due to his presenter commitments - http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/3284/euro-2012/2012/05/10/3093046/shearer-out-of-running-to-be-part-of-hodgsons-euro-2012-backroom -

Reading on I noticed that our very own Nigel is in the frame of joining the team over in Poland and Ukraine to help out Roy.

"Gareth Southgate, the FA head of elite development, Nick Barmby, who was sacked as Hull City manager earlier this week, and Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson are other names in the frame for a post designed for Euro 2012 only."

How does this sounds to you? pleasing or unwary? I think it could be an excellent move for him and our club? Thoughts?

No matter what I'll be backing our team; just if he joins just means more interest on England's results for me.

I think Pearson will want to stay at home and concentrate on getting deals done and getting the right players for leicester city.

Interesting one. For NP, I think it might benefit him to go as it would help him develop as a coach. However, like TFM says, I think he'll probably want to stay and concentrate on getting the transfer business done.

You have to look at the bigger picture - NP should develop as a coach as people rightly say, he will also develop relationships across a broad spectrum of the game including players and officials, this may help him later when he's looking for players

Our last entanglement with the England set-up involved Peter Taylor. Hodgson should send for him immediately to make sure no-one spends too long in the Ukraine and Poland this summer! Well, he could tell the squad about his time with the under-21s and how he took Leicester to the top of the Premiership.
Second thoughts. England call-up for Pearson is a bad omen. Please leave him where he is.
