Jordan Rhodes

Has just scored his 38th goal of the season, taking him 1 goal ahead of Robin van Persie as the leading goalscorer in English football this season.

He is a player certainly good enough to play at a higher level, with many experts calling him the best striker outside the premier league, despite playing in league 1, and only turning 22 in February.

Already having forced his way into the Scotland squad, he is thought to be the man who will spearhead the Scotland attack for the next decade. At 6 foot 2, and possessing great physical strength, he is also very quick and has an excellent first touch and link up game. Potentially a forward player with the whole package, he has stated that he hopes to play championship football next season with Huddersfield, but aspires to play at the highest level possible in the near future.

If we are in the market for a 4th choice striker with potential, with Berbatov and Owen expected to leave, and Macheda, Keane and co. likely to be loaned out/moved on respectively next season, then surely Jordan Rhodes is an option as good as any?

Whilst we're at it.
Some of your players know more about the array of ladies who sell their bodies in the Manchester Area than they know about football.
I don't wish to mention any names but it has all been documented.
Same with the other lot next door, who I dislike as much as you and also a certain other team at the end of the M621.

Rhodes at Manchester United?! I love the lad but he's nowhere near that standard I'm afraid.

Definitely good enough for a lower level of Premiership team (Norwich, WBA, Swansea, etc) but in my heart of hearts I can never imagine him being good enough to play in the Champions League.

Love for him to prove me wrong as, alongside being a bit of a goal machine, he's a really level-headed and likeable lad.

As for the United fan who wouldn't spend more than £3million - would you want his left or right boot?

OK. We beat MK, & Rhodes scored a good header.
But rather than saying he didn't do much else, I'm of the opinion that this game has highlighted the lack of quality around him.
Rhodes at Man United,..that's up to them.
Rhodes staying at TOWN () , well there are going to have to be some changes for us to benefit as a team & maximise his potential.
Novak & Rhodes as a partnership works. But the ball has to be played in, at pace, & to run on to. Support is vital from players close by, & I believe he'd get that, & shine, with better quality players around him.
I know all the talk is "that he's going nowhere"
I don't buy it..
I reckon the 'deal' was done months ago, & Just like the Wallace situation, where by we signed him, but let him play out the season at his old club, I think Rhodes is playing out his season with TOWN.
I'm guessing Spurs.

'Park', Town don't need to sell Rhodes and would certainly not let him go for £3M! So dream on buddy!

'Mirf', I don't usually agree with you, but you are spot on about the lack of quality balls in to Rhodes! As much as I'm happy with the first leg result, it was still too much 'kick and rush' for my liking!

'Darn', morning pal! Thanks for yours and Mrs Darn's hospitality last night, really enjoyed it! Rhodes to Spurs, hmmm. I'd love to see him play at Spurs, but then again, he's the sort of player that Town would desperately need to keep them in the Championship, if they make it! Hoyle has said it before, Rhodes is going nowhere, but he said that earlier in the season. Things change and if a Premiership club want to splash out mega bucks for him, then he'll go. I'd say, between 4.5 to 5 million is a realistic figure for him. At 22yrs of age, he shows so much maturity and he will listen and learn! He's no prima doña too, which is great. He's a cool, level headed individual, just what you need in a striker. His name will definitely be banded around in the future, as for that other 'up and coming' guy, uh what's his name, Lee, er, Lee, oh I can't remember! 😉

LV...
'She's' still looking for seats on 'Jets'

Mirf. LV69 & Darn all on the same page
no 'knife fights' this week then...

I'd love him to stay.
I want him to stay.
But just like governments... & the fact 'money talks' ought can & will happen.

Just to put another twist into this thread......(5 star BTW)
Anyone reckon an offer will be made for NOVAK anytime soon ?

Footballing Banter aside Show me when I've been wrong about Core Decisions and Major Moves over the last 3 years and I will show you a liar .. Funs fine and these columns would be Dry as a Bone if were left to 38 and Co dumbing them down with Worn Out football tactic cliche's .. I mean to say there's only so many you can take without losing the will to live ... ...

Darn ~ I'm NO Fool and realise all too well I ANNOY & WIND You up AS I DO THE MAJORITY on here .. To The Very Hilt !

But thats my way .. I Rather Enjoy it and I think you know that .. The more against me the merrier and the sharper I become .. ..

Which leads me to the Point where we both agree on one thing ..

Its time for Rhodes to Go .. For His Good & Frankly for Towns good

Cas n 38 (Supposed Football men) Can huff n Puff all they like about what I'm gonna say now ~ though its only a repeat of what I've said before ..

Rhodes is better off (IF his well connected Dad or Agent Can SKIP the Champ and tuck him into a fine footballing Prem Side) ~ and WE will be better off with a More RUGGED (NOT Al Lee) Grant Hoult type of Goalscorer if we can sneak/force/fluke (whats it matter ?) our way into The Champ ..

Here's the thing though Darn et al and I bet you I YET AGAIN Call this right .. Jordan Rhodes style of Deft Flick Cultivated Tap Play is NOT Simon Graysons .. Thats For Sure ..

And thats why he'll go .. Providing Simmo brings us in a 20 Goal No 9 Warrior and we're in The Champ .. I'm Happy ..

The Biggest PayDay for Town to Sell Rhodes .. IS NOW .. Don't do a Smithies and Lose it .. Take the money Dean and Use it Shrewdly ..

To be honest didnt realise he was playing, he was'nt in the game at all and did nothing other than score a goal, which was well taken.

Maybe it's because every time we played the ball to Rhodes MK's CB's kicked lumps out of him...and the ref just let it go.

Grayson knows that to get the best out of Rhodes doesn't involve him getting stuck into a midfield battle...he floats around in front of and behind the back four looking for openings... sniffing out goals. Ok, so he isn't a tackler...but not many strikers are tacklers, if any...

When you 'don't notice' Rhodes then for him that's perfect..because he's like a ghost on the pitch, defenders have no idea where he is...hence 38 blimming goals ffs !!

Don't know what it is with some people who like to build a guy up then knock him down again...sad gits

Rhodes is a predator...and a bloomin good one too...and I hope we go up and he stays with us..

Stop effing knocking him, negative *ankers !

There is something in what you say, dont feel he was dealt any different treatment to what your centre backs dished out.
Its a big step up for a striker from League One to Championship and from Championship to Premier.
Baldock was a great finisher for us when he wasnt injured, yet now doesnt make West Hams bench, how we could have done with him yesterday.

Local freesheet down here reckons that Reading are 'tracking' Rhodes and they value him at £6m.

Apparently it all depends on whether Town get promoted and if so if that leads to the club putting a huge price tag on him (I didn't think £6m was small).

Mind you it also all depends on a Russian acquiring a majority stake in the club - a deal which was meant to have taken place in March!

Any credibility the story might have is ruined for me by the fact that the paper reckons Huddersfield is in South Yorkshire!
