I really think if he could be disciplined in the role he should play he is a quality player. now to be disciplined we need another creative midfielder so he does not have to try and play that role and can stick to his defensive midfield duties and role.

He is a great DM but doesnt want to pay there and keeps going forward and leaving the defence exposed. When he stays back he is a world class player but when he goes forward he is average and we dont have the players to cover for him. M'Vila is more disciplined (apparently) so a better option imo.

you guys are so willing to swap out Song for M'Vila, I think that is so unfair. Song is a great player if he plays in his DM role, the point I'm trying to make is that in a way he's been forced to play forward with the lack of creativity coming from our current midfield in front of him. Plug that gap first with a creative AM that can score goals regular, we need goals form midfield.

I feel sorry for Song. He has had a very good season partnering Arteta. Unfortunately he has recently been a victim of the Ramsey effect.

Its not rocket science but obviously our manager and his dodgy coaching staff can't see whats before their noses.

Creativity through the middle has been one of our major issues this season - Song hasn't had any choice but try to assist. Obviously this takes him away from his defensive duties, but without his assists we'd be in the same sort of shizer as if we had lost RVP to a bad injury.

If Wilshere takes the Arteta roll (providing he comes back the same, or close to the same form as he left us) and we spend some decent money on a CAM, Song could concentrate on what he does best, and that is to be our beast!

Even Redknapp's kid has chosen Alex Song his team of the year. Those Arsenal fans who do not know that we have a special player are stupid, and they will know when they lose him. We lost Cesc, but we needed somebody to be creative and Wenger saw Song as the only solution that can do the role though not enough to match Cesc's creativity but enough to push our team to the third place. Ramsey is awful and cannot do any job either to be the creative player of the team or cover Song when he goes forward to do that.

Apart from his chipped through ball to RVP his forward passing is usually very poor. For every chip pass to RVP which he scores there are at least another 20 attempts which gifts possession bk.
