No doubt he'll be tweeting all about it later on tonight. Looking at a lengthy ban for his actions on leaving field and his previous disciplinary record.

I've never understood why when an incident like that happens the police at the side of the pitch don't just slap cuffs on him and arrest him for assault? If it was anyone in the street doing that they would be in a cell for the evening. Maybe there's a rule police can't get involved that way during a match? Make an example of the self absorbed little fecker!

Rawdon
A hard tackle ok. But that sort of thing especially after the play is dead should be considered assault. I guess athletes are really above the law there.

Barton (Twitter) -Can do nothing but apologise to the players and the fans. Still don't think its a sending off. Tried to take 1 of their players with me....
Barton - Still not my proudest moment but who gives a @#@# We are safe and that's all that matters.

Barton - The head was never gone at any stage, once I'd been sent off, one of our players suggested I should try to take 1 of theirs with me...

If those comments are from his Twitter account RtM he'll get a fair old ban and deservedly so.
He's a disgrace to sport.
IMO he'll retire now and end up a pundit on the telly.
