Well that was disappointing wasn't it. Can't fault the players efforts today though, was very pleased with the majority of the performance and we went down fighting (just think if that Ream header had have snuck in ey?).
To the point of my article though. We have seen a lot of "Coyle Out" posts during this season and now we have finally been confined to relegation it seems like the most sensible time to talk about this.
For me though, it is not a case of "Coyle Out". He is out of contract at the end of this season (i.e. now) so now is the time to review his performance and judge whether he DESERVES to be offered a new one. He was given one aim this season, stay up.
Has he done it? No.
So does he deserve to be offered a new contract? No.
It's as simple as that for me. You can blame injuries all you like but we had January to strengthen because of the injuries and failed to do so. And also the decision to bring Lee on for the last 2 games was unbelievable, the guy is so far away from match fit it's laughable but he still gets brought on instead of a "tired" Miyaichi (God knows how he's still tired by the way). The other excuse is fixtures, another pile of nonsense. There's no point being in this league if you don't want to play all of the teams twice like everybody else does.
So what do you guys think, has he done enough to deserve a new contract? For me it's definitely a no.
On the bright side, Mavin Sordell looked pretty nippy when he came on didn't he? Maybe we were right to buy him for when we get relegated after all.
Coyle Not In

Coyle has failed and thats a fact..I will forever be grateful he replaced HWNBN but its a results business and he isnt premiership standard. May be ok for the fizzy pop but would rather not risk it..Fresh ideas are needed.
Strange thing is that although I am disapointed we are down Im not gutted as its been coming for months. Next season could be a chance to regroup and get some decent players in and a new management. We have been woeful all season and we got what we deserved but we must not go into freefall like we have in the past. COYWM

I don't want him out.
We need stability not a managerial merry go round.
Coyle has his faults but he is a decent manager. He got Burnley up, he can do the same for us.

There's going to be an awful lot of difficult transfer issues Billy, and he has proved useless in the main at that.
The thought of him reorganising a squad that has dropped down a league terrifies me if I'm honest. Firstof.. has it spot on for me.

Sordell must be gutted

its coyles team next season, theres nobody else to blame. if he can get us back up we should be much stronger, we have a good squad of young players, and with over 12 or more players moving on we should get a few more in, the future does look bright if we ar'nt 12 points clear at the top come christmas coyle should go

TBH, I'm not too bothered if he stays or if he goes, I have always said if the board decide to get rid, I will back them, I'll back any manager in the dugout come August.

After 5 transfer windows ... it's ALREADY his team ...and has been for a long time ...there's definitely nobody else to blame ...and I'm sure he knows it. What he (or The Board) DOES about that ...we'll have to see ....

I don't think there's anyone that would argue that Klasnic deserves a new contract, so why is it any different for Coyle? Neither have done their jobs well enough.

A lot of players who weren't good enough for the Prem will now very likely get offered Championship contracts with us ..a division they might just be good enough for.
Problem will be the money ... it will be much reduced from Prem wages no doubt, so a lot will chance their luck elsewhere .....

He's failed miserably, so sack him.
