But before you start working me over on the title please read & comment……the one good thing from today’s game was Marvin Sordell, performed very well IMO in the time that he was on the pitch, but what I want to know is why buy him for 3m+ and never play him before, I am pretty sure that he is something a little different with pace to burn.
But then again Coyle just puzzles me full stop, the decisions, dare I say the T word (Tactics). Enthusiasm will only take you so far. This season feels like it has been relegation by design, & the excuse used was to lower the average age of the players…..which in essence is equal to reducing the wage bill quite rightly so for the future wellbeing of BWFC but it has backfired with immense consequences.
I hope I am pretty sure I am wrong & more than a little fluked off at the moment, but will be renewing again next year of course.
Anyway I am going to pop that boddle wolf blass chiraz, your comments are welcome as always chaps
Onwards & upwards…….
A positive from todays game

i think if we can keep the nucleus of the team together we can be positive about next season.
The tough decisions need to be made though to reduce the wage bill and let Knight, Robinson, Steinsson, Petrov and Klasnic leave.
I also think that unless Coyle decides he wants to leave he will be here next season as i can't see Gartside letting him go.
i am perversely already looking forward to next season, the premiership is a closed shop now and clubs of our size are there to merely make up the numbers, relegation was going to happen sooner or later.
The debt situation is the most worrying aspect of relegation, what happens if Eddie decides he's had enough?

Let Petrov leave? I dunno, I think I'd be inclined to hold on to the only player in our squad (apart from the injured Holden) who has any real technical quality.

That's a worrying thought of course. Couple that with Eddie not gettin' any younger, and ..well ...when he finally shuffles off this mortal coil ( hopefully, another ' Coyle ' will have shuffled off well before then ) I can't imagine his inheritant family having any interest in pumping more good money after bad, as he's done these past few years. Let's hope he stays fit n' well for a long, long time then ...cos when he goes, so might our club ....

he is technically one of our best players but he really frustrates me, too many crosses or set pieces never beat the first man and at 32 his best days are behind him.
I would be interested to see what Greg Wylde can do from the left wing and he seems a better long term prospect.

I think it's more a question of us being able to persuade Petrov to stay.
He will be a very attractive proposition for one of the Prem new boys who will be able to offer him a good wage.

Madnot, do you not think CYL has real technical quality?
Petrov will be gone. He won't take a 50% pay cut and he's out of contract come 1st July.

CYl I'll give you as well.

CYL was awful today, and awful v West Brom.
It's like he's forgotten how to kick a ball.

Been rushed back far too quickly ( as per usual ) and clearly isn't ready. He may never get back to the standard he played at before his long term injury ...then again, he won't have to if he stays, as the Championship will be far more ' forgiving ' .....

Until Robbo clatters him when we play Leeds...
