Not another Barton thread.

Looking back at his show yesterday (and subsequent encore on twitter) in the cold light of day, his gamble might have been worth it.
Playing in the 'Luca Brasi' position means that early baths are inevitable in whichever league you're in. Most of the coaches I have played under have ''suggested'' that I 'take one of theirs down with me'. Since you'll be getting a fixed maximum suspension anyway, why not even the odds by getting someone on the other side to retaliate and get sent off too. Hence Barton's attempt at picking a fight with anyone in blue when it finally hit the fan yesterday.
I'm not proud of it, but that is how the underbelly of the beautiful game looks like. It's not all Messi and unicorns.

8bit, I was trying to point out the silly rules. You have to agree that at some point Barton was thinking ''I could take a howitzer to the City bench and still only kop a nine game ban''

The funny thing is, If it had been rooney, everyone would have excused him, and said "he's just passionate"
Personaly I would ban em both for ever!
at least.

I'm sorry, but kicking one player, nutting another and going after a third, AFTER being sent off, is way beyond the realms of collateral damage or taking down an opponent with you.

Barton is a psychopath, and Tony Fernandes coming out and saying that he may still have a future at the club beggars belief. Immediately after he was sent off, I'd wager good money that upward of 90% of the QPR faithful would have killed him personally, given the chance.

There is no place for Barton in football, he's as bad as Kevin Muscat. Any club who tolerates him deserves to suffer. I'm glad QPR stayed up. If they keep Barton on, I want them out of the Premier League for their pains next season.

RuiCostaJr, he made a reference on twitter about how one of his QPR teamates egged him on. It's also clear from the bust-up that no one from QPR tried to stop him.
''Sorry mate, orders from above.''

Maybe his teamates hate him so much they just wanted him off the pitch and out of the club? Any club that employs this deserves all they get. A real shame they didn't get relegated.

So he did it because he was told to? Does that sound like a typically 'Barton' thing to do?

If it is true, obviously QPR are a disgrace and I want them to go down, because that sort of thing doesn't belong in the league. If it isn't, but they give Barton another chance, I'd like to see them relegated for their stupidity.
