I assume you are inferring that they pay higher wages as it says nothing in the article.

Even if they do - and I care not either way - why are so many people convinced players ONLY go where the money is best. A number do, without a doubt, but there are many other factors involved.

One player we were allegedly interested in a couple of seasons ago - and his wife, whom I know, says we showed an interest - was simply never going to come.

He wasn't offered better wages by Southampton - where he ended up - but his wife said she wasn't moving to the north for anything and his family was in London and in the south east, so negotiations never got beyond an expression of interest from LUFC.
