Thanks to the 4 Released

Back again after quite a while, its Brewer Dave again ! Been a bit busy of late,
but I have been keeping up to date with the daily postings.

I posted an article some weeks ago, but somehow slipped up, so God knows where it ended up. It followed the win against Gillingham and draw with
Crawley (am I being negative in saying a little fortunately). I wrote about being uneasy about Gary Rowett's appointment, especially when he admitted that the team was not fit enough, when as coach it was one of his prime responibilities.

I gauge this forums view that is disappointed not to see a new manager to revitalise the club..... As with many others, I will be behind Gary and the team
, but (I hope am wrong) but there is a certain inevitabilty about a forced managerial change by mid-October.

Ben has taken consistency too far. He has given Gary an opportunity which is
naturally too good to turn down, but he may not be up to. He is saying the "right things" but I am wary. The decision on the 6 players is a case in point, as we have lost 4 excellent "clubmen".Their replacements will be vital, there is always the real chance of securing football mercaneries, "free-loaders" and "sick-notes"

If you can't motivate and get fit a team with a high % of "Burton through & through" players, you face a tougher task in the future

I can understand & agree with the need to sign up Jack Dyer, but Jimmy Phillips ,although improving a bit late in the season, has always flattered to deceive.
Of the 6 considered today, I would have kept 4
- Nathan Stanton - Yes, but. Can be a bit of "sick-note" & "not tall enough for
a central defender"
- Adam Bolder -has worked extremely hard in midfield and should have
another season in my view
- Aaron ( sometimes needs needs to be motivated) but is up to this League standard. He & Rhino, even after some shambolic home performaces, always come over to applaud the fans.

Before I finish, can I leave you with the thought that if Aaron turns down a contract, then this would be highly significant .

C'mon you Brewers

Most importantly thanks to Adam, Rhino, Tony & Greg, Albion fans greatly appreciate your contribution, and genuinely wish you well for the future!!!!!!

Hi Brewdave not a lot wrong there, it was time for the 4 to go with rebuilding in mind,Phillips would have been top of my list to go no matter what his salary is. Webster will be significant i agree, not sure he can drive so surely that limits his options, can be so frustrating because he has so much natural ability but needs plenty of kicks up the backside regarding his application !

Good clubmen don't keep you in league two.
Good players do ,so i think Rowett was correct in his decision to release those he has.
Shame theres one or two others with contracts he can't get rid of.
He must surely know who his problem players are.
Be interesting to see how he goes on recruiting new players.

Good to hear from you Dave. The one thing that has baffled me a little is why he has kept Yusef and released Pearson, surely Greg would have been more use to have around as regards to experience in league football.Maybe Greg wanted out who knows.

I hear from an insider that the Jimmy deal on the table is that once in the 2012 / 2013 season he has to beat someone, get to the byline and put in a decent cross. Jimmy is weighing up whether that is realistic as he failed to do it once in the 2011 / 2012 season.

(Harsh but true if you think about it).

I've heard he's been approached by Bury !
That comment is right on the button Otep, harsh but true and certainly raised a belly laugh here !
